fogging clocks - bash62 - 27-11-11
my clocks are fogging up .gen 1 04 .any ideas how can stop it

Just like the bathroom until a window is opened, if the air space in the instruments is sealed, the "window" will mist up.
If you can remove a light fitting to allow air to circulate, you may find the misting clears.
Whether you can introduce another air inlet and keep the lights, I don`t know. it`s not an area I`ve accessed on my`04.

PS, is water getting in from on top at all? that would help to cause misting.

Yes, I noticed a bit on mine too. If we wait a while someone'll come along with a fantastic solution
that costs nowt. :lol

yeah...my 04 does it...always has.
Some one once said something about taking the back of the clocks off and putting silica gel packs in.
I ride all year round but not as much in the winter so that sounds like to much bother to me.
easier just to put up with foggy dials.

Used to have this with my 600 - once the mist cleared (warm day or dry out under cover) wiping round the inside rim of the clocks with a dab of vaseline kept them clear for the winter. Probably depends where the damp is getting in though!
