Reducing Scratches on clear visor; or where to get a new one - mickdel - 19-10-11 My lid got scratched by falling off the passenger seat, when I was busy putting the disc brake on. The lid is a viper RS -V 121. Also, anyone know where I can get a battery for the bluetooth? (Edit - erroneous photo removed) Re: Reducing Scratches on clear visor; or where to get a new one - mickdel - 19-10-11 How the foc that happened, I know not :wall Re: Reducing Scratches on clear visor; or where to get a new one - Giraffe - 19-10-11 Great technical skills :b New one, I've never managed to get scratches properly sorted on visors. Re: Reducing Scratches on clear visor; or where to get a new one - dolau - 19-10-11 ebay for all your needsd Re: Reducing Scratches on clear visor; or where to get a new one - mickdel - 19-10-11 Yep, an irish moment there. one of the kid's friends. I'll ask help desk to remove it. IT challenged isn't the word for me. I learned to type on a teleprinter in 1990, and don't seem to have acquired much in the way of technical knowledge. At least I got a fotie up! Re: Reducing Scratches on clear visor; or where to get a new one - bigralphie - 19-10-11 You can try a tiny bit of toothpaste on a lint free cloth but may be goosed Re: Reducing Scratches on clear visor; or where to get a new one - Fazerider - 19-10-11 Visors these days have a hard coating... certainly last a hell of a lot longer than when I started riding. The downside is that to polish a scratch out you've got to keep going until the surrounding (hard) surface is down to the level of the bottom of the scratch. It should be possible, but it'll take a long time and the result will be a visor that is no longer scratch-resistant. Long story short... it's time to buy a new one. ![]() Re: Reducing Scratches on clear visor; or where to get a new one - mickdel - 19-10-11 Thanks. I'll try the toothpaste. The visor on these vipers are much thinner than other decent helmets. They're about a quarter as hard as the ones on my arai, and scratch if you look at them funny :'( Otherwise, it's a nice snug fitting lid with excellent sun visor and the bluetooth works a treat. I'll have a scunder round ebay if the toothpaste disnae work, but I still need a wee battery fer the blueteeth. Re: Reducing Scratches on clear visor; or where to get a new one - mickdel - 19-10-11 ps = thanks Admin for removing the photo. My kid would have skinned me if she saw her mate on foc-u :rollin Re: Reducing Scratches on clear visor; or where to get a new one - Deefer666 - 19-10-11 http://www.motohart.com/ These lads are the viper importers..... Give them a try. If they wont deal direct with you then I still have an account with them. |
