Ride- Rider Power Fazers - dolau - 25-09-11 OK so obviously the litre Fazers got better marks that the 600- I say obviously but more people seem to own them than 600's and it has more useable power but in the survey......... Owners 30% FZS6 17% FZ6S 37% FZS1000 16% FZ1 97% male/3% female owners Average 9124 miles per year But the thing that interested me (as an FZ6S2 owner and having all the -hopefully good nautured ribbing from those with box eyes) was that we scored the FZ6S slightly higher than the FZS6 :b I suppose the boxeyes will say that their bikes are older and so more troublesome but isnt that the point? Time to change up! Anyway- 52% of Fazer owners said the Fazer is the best bike they have ever owned so I guess it doesnt matter which one you have as long as you are happy with it. Mine did 120 miles half in torrential downpour and half in sunshine today- didnt miss a beat and I still ended the ride with a slightly bedraggled and soggy smile- just need to clean and dry the kit and then the bike before another run out on Friday with friends Re: Ride- Rider Power Fazers - Fuzzygoth - 26-09-11 As the FZ6 is a newer bike I'd assume more people like my mate buy them as opposed to the FZS600, although I was still generous enough to ride ahead and bring back a Jerry Can of petrol when he ran out (long before my trusty Fazer) round Scotland with only a mild ribbing ![]() I will say whenever i am behind and FZ6 though i know as the exhaust fumes smell much richer (it's a good smell). Fuzzy Re: Ride- Rider Power Fazers - BIG MAC - 26-09-11 Not sure it's fair to mark the thou as better than the 600 what the 600 lacks in grunt and perhaps build quality it makes up for in charm it is a sweet natured thing Re: Ride- Rider Power Fazers - wraith600 - 27-09-11 personally ide never change my fzs600 for a newer model but may put the early 1000 engine in though :evil Re: Ride- Rider Power Fazers - BIG MAC - 27-09-11 Dont go there Wraith its been tried...unless you are going to cut the frame rails and weld in the thou ones!...its a much taller engine and the handling may well go to pot too Re: Ride- Rider Power Fazers - Lumpy - 29-09-11 The 98/99 FZS600 is an awesome machine and can do everything the bigger one can, if I want a bit more speed I take the Bird out. I am amazed by the useability of the 600 though, well impressed. Re: Ride- Rider Power Fazers - Slaninar - 29-09-11 I simply HATE Fazer! Roads in my country are so poor that after each ride I curse it and think to myself why haven't I bought a nice enduro (Transalp, Versys etc). It is better for poor roads and it doesn't make you want to go fast. The problem is, Fazer is just perfect for everything and whichever bike I've tried, it is either too dull, too sporty or just plain ugly. So FZS boxey for a few more years it seams. It is decent on comfort, decent on handling, excellent acceleration, excellent brakes and just perfect looks for my liking that is. Fuel consumption is also excellent - less than any other bike my mates have, with similar number of HP. Not to forget the build quality. Been helping some mates with GS Suzukis, Yamaha Tenere, TDMs, Transalps. Fazer seems as good, or better in most parts, plus it seems like the most practical one. On Fazer it is easier (compared to the above mentioned) to change fuel, filters, brake pads, clean calipers, change spark plugs. All those things that are more likely to be done at a roadside in case of something going wrong (which so far never has on the trusty one ![]() Just wish they made a model with some 20 hp less, some 20 kg less and a few more cm of suspension travel for our minefield roads. Then it would be 100% perfect. Re: Ride- Rider Power Fazers - Slaninar - 29-09-11 Change oil, not fuel, of course. :rolleyes Re: Ride- Rider Power Fazers - paulchucky - 29-09-11 its not wot u ride its how u ride it !! |
