Finished off fitting the new fairing and put the graphics on.

A good mate made the graphics for me, not completely identical to original but as I am restoring the old girl, only get her back to clean original-ish condition they look great.

Also put some black plastic caps on the mirror stalk nuts just to tidy the inside up.

Very pleased.

Your right - how silly of me I should know better.

So pictures of fairing, stickers and black mirror caps and chrome handle bar clamp caps as requested.

Doggy.

First track day of the year. Spot the odd one out.

We had a great if somewhat cold day at Snetterton, the old girl still managed to upset plenty of bikes, new vids on Youtube.

Did my first oil and filter change since getting my boxeye. FZS600 really is an easy bike to work on, took me no time.

Actually got the old girl out on the road today, thoroughly enjoyed a good, if chilly towards the end, 60 mile run to actually enjoy the fruits of my hard work.

Loved it!

First picture is her when I bought her, second one as she looks today.

Still got things to do, mainly cosmetic and a service.

Cheers Doggy

New tyres today Michelin Road Pilot 3, they look and feel great so far. Will be taking it easy 50 miles, although the tyres guy told me they need only 5 miles scrubing:

Does he repair bikes also? :lol :lol :lol

I would not be pushing them to hard for 100 miles on dry roads.

Had the bike leaned far more than before within about 10 miles.  They just ooze confidence.  Smile

I have heard that before, funnily enough only from people with silver ones!

More stainless bits and bob's are on the list and stainless brake hoses.

Cheers

Love the video clips, looks like the ole FZS showed rather a lot of the sports bikes the way around, you were certainly scratching well, a good few of the bikes certainly had more power but what you lacked in power you well made up for in arse-hole, you were eating them up in the corners and out braking them all. Great riding well done. :eek :eek

Agrees with Unfazed Bet the tyre guy has a set of forks a pair of bars and a fairing he want to sell. Had a brace of Batlax covers fitted a few months ago and I took it easy for the first hundred or so. How can you take it easy for just 5 miles and still scrub the outside edges?  :wall :fish

Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - Dave48 - 23-03-16

Removed wheels & took with new pair Michelin PR3s to tyrefitter. Returned home with new tyres/valves fitted & reinstalled wheels in bike. Today is first opportunity to ride-think they promised some sunshine later for the Midlands but not looking too promising so far. Rain forecast for tomorrow.
Will definitely take things steady for first 100 miles as have always done with every new set of tyres.
The replaced tyres were Conti Attack & although road legal the back was squared off as previous owner had commuted on bike-they had done 8000 miles since he fitted in 2014.  Me?.....Im sticking with the Michelin PR3s as had on previous 600 and the road holding/feedback was remarkable especially in the wet!
Tyres have definitely improved since I started riding all those years ago :lol
