Re: Nightshift - stevierst - 03-06-13

Oh the joys of a week of nights when the weather woman on telly is pointing at the UK map full of high temps and good weather. Meh!

Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!

Re: Nightshift - Chris - 03-06-13

was sunny when I got home from work this morning, had 4 and a half hours sleep and it's pissing down now. Not on again till thursday so hopefully get some nice days now!

Re: Nightshift - noggythenog - 03-06-13

Ive done a day shift followed by 2 nights, having 1 day off & back to 2 days and 2 nights, all 12 hour shifts,

Im kinda all over the place at the moment which is the joy of helping someone out with some swaps when working a fixed yearly roster. :\

On the plus side i can plan my holidays for next year Smile

Re: Nightshift - pongeroon - 06-06-13

Hmmm, like you Noggy, I've been doing some extra shifts in order to get get a couple more days tagged onto my holidays next month. I did five nights, finished on Sunday morning, then back on for four days Monday morning. Last day today and I'm feeling a tad tired :z
I was supposed be doing a driving refresher course on Monday, but it was cancelled and no-one thought to tell me, so I had a couple of hours being paid to  ride the bike in the sunshine (to the training dept and back to my workplace) Big Grin
Smug? Oh yes :lol

Re: Nightshift - Chris - 23-06-13

Still at work sat in the car in the pouring rain. 3 shifts down, and one to go! I'm knackered.

Re: Nightshift - JoeRock - 23-06-13

Just got home, in two minds whether to go to sleep or not - I've got to be up in about 5 hours to go back to work anyway!

Re: Nightshift - pongeroon - 23-06-13

Two down, two to go...

Re: Nightshift - stevierst - 24-06-13

That's the last one done, and on absolutely knackered! A whole 3 days off, and the sun will be shining (yeah, right!) Ill be putting some more miles on the bike then Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

Struggling on my first night shift this week.  But hopefully I'll finish a bit earlier and enjoy the ride home.

Re: Nightshift - simonm - 04-09-13

Jack.  It's 4am (now 5), you're 6 months old.  You've slept through the night before.  Go back to damn sleep.

That's my night shift ;-)

Re: Nightshift - Chris - 04-09-13

You had a choice too :-P

When he's asleep for the third time, you lay him down and oh so carefully remove your arms and think. Oh yeah.  I'm the man....... then the twitch, then the sob, then the cry.

Makes me feel like doing a rugby pass with him in to the adjacent wall.

He's a reluctant sleeper that one....and now I can't get back to sleep either :-P

Re: Nightshift - Chris - 04-09-13

sounds a little testing for ones patience!

Having said that at least you know your balls work  :lol

Re: Nightshift - simonm - 04-09-13

I didn't need proof.  I already had one :-P

It's the picking him up, calming him down,  relaxing him, stopping him from headbutting me, getting him to sleep .....then you have to put them down.

It's 20 mins to get him to sleep, then another 20 to put him down.....then you see if he notices and wails.

Re: Nightshift - Chris - 04-09-13

Better to have two to make sure it wasn't beginners luck  :lol

Trust me, working with the elderly can be exactly the same... although picking them up is frowned upon  :lol

Re: Nightshift - fireblake - 04-09-13

I was always up really early for work so my gorgeous beautiful sexy wonderful extra special wife dealt with the kids at night. Now i do nights a few days a week i sleep around my Mums as those little Ba$t&rds are in their 20's and don't know how to close the door, walk up the stairs or even deficate without the whole house knowing. You gotta love 'em though
