In that case, Happy Birthday to the both of you. 79 Robbo, good for you, makes me feel a young man. I swear I was the oldest rider at Donington Park last Monday.

1967, the year after we won the World Cup, great music, great time for motorbikes, no speed cameras, plenty of work…………wanna swap Smile

You wouldn't want to - trust me. To young to watch the World Cup, to young to listen to the music, definitely to young to ride a bike, however, I wouldn't need to work for a while and speed cameras were only a dream on Tomorrows World.  Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

It’s amazing to me the amount of tech (speed cameras etc), that is in our lives now. Things that were pure fiction in my weekly edition of The Eagle comic, as a kid. Drones were something straight out of the space character Dan Dare’s story line, and now feature in so much, both good and bad.

RE: Whoever posts last is best - HarryHornby - 15-10-25

true dat!

RE: Whoever posts last is best - fazerscotty - 18-10-25

And what's worse is that there were no motorcycles in any Dan Dare story I ever saw!

That’s right. They were riding around on what looked like Sinclair C5’s with no wheels. Used to like the centre page exploded print of something interesting. Jet fighter, aircraft carrier, helicopter etc. Only about 70 years ago Cry
