Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - nickodemon - 02-09-16 Just bought this triumph st 955i as a project. Looks good in pics but closer inspection shows it needs plenty work. Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - nick crisp - 02-09-16 Well, I've got these walking boots see, and I've been putting them to use in the Lake District at long last :rolleyes ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - downey - 11-09-16 awesome pics there hedgetrimmer,, i decided to cheer myself up and head to the beach on the tuono, garratstown west cork to be exact,,serious gale blowing too ![]() ![]() Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - dazza - 18-09-16 After a week or so in France, Germany and Switzerland with my family in the car, couldn't wait to get the MT10 out and hit the twisties. Found some cracking roads around Lake Geneva and definitely going to take the bike next year but that's another thread. Popped down to Folkestone to a SKA festival and made my way back through Camber and Rye stopping off at Bodiam castle for a pic. This bike is mental, it truly makes my Fazer feel like a dinosaur even though there is probably very little difference in performance. Traction control 2 kicked in on some of the corners as I was accelerating out of the bends. Usually ride in TC1 mode but after the rain had left a bit of debris on the road, I thought I'd play it safe.....Not for long though I just love the way this thing will wheelie on command. Out of every tight corner in 1st and 2nd and every lump in the road in 3rd and 4th. It's soooo much fun it should be illegal. When's the next LOFO meet ? Got to get one more in before the weather goes to shit surely. Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - nick crisp - 19-09-16 Hi Pat. Yes, it is. Been out on the fells so much lately, I've barely had time to ride the bikes. Going out on the Fazer today though. Probably down to the Lake District :rolleyes :lol Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - downey - 19-09-16 took a spin down east cork and popped into the post office parked in the usual spot,,left 3 feet between me and the jeep to my left ,even though they had enough room to pull out without reversing ,,anyway as im gettin served in the post office a guy comes in "hey your bike is after colapsing" :eek runs out only to see the tuono on its side and a fuckin blonde tramp whore standing over it scratchin her head ,,picks it up and said bitch proceeds to tell me those marks should wash off ,,yer havin a laugh i says so on come the cops who start asking me why im parked in a loading bay ,i says did u ask her the same question ? eh no,,,,there bloody attitude was those marks will probably polish out :rolleyes ,, fuck that ill be havin a garage check the whole bike over before i do anything else ,,from what i can see i the bar end is broken ,the carbon engine casing is goosed having done its job ,theres a scuff on the akropovic exhaust front crash bobbins are scuffed,, mirror and left side fairing is scuffed and came loose "prob just a clip" ,,the right hand giles rearset looks to me as if it is bent slightly back intowrds the frame aswell , :'( ,,fuck me im glad today is over :rolleyes Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - nick crisp - 20-09-16 Hey Downey, have you ever thought about taking up knitting or something - you know, a nice, safe, indoor hobby? :lol Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - dazza - 20-09-16 Gutted for you Downey......Stupid bitch......Death by dildo to her. :evil Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - downey - 20-09-16 (20-09-16, 09:42 AM)Hedgetrimmer link Wrote: Hey Downey, have you ever thought about taking up knitting or something - you know, a nice, safe, indoor hobby? :lol :lol that has been suggested before Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - downey - 20-09-16 (20-09-16, 02:07 PM)dazza link Wrote: Gutted for you Downey......Stupid bitch......Death by dildo to her. :evilmuch too good for her :lol Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - midden - 20-09-16 I'm sure there'd be a queue of volunteers to administer the lethal injection ![]() Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - hotmetal - 21-09-16 What as in "pork sword calling Downey boy" you mean? :-[ Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - pilninggas - 21-09-16 Stripping the forks down on my FZR1000. The stanchions are pitted, so need to seperate the lowers from them. Suprised how much heat is needed (surface of the fork lower at 300C before the loctite/galling/electrolytic corrosion gave up. All good fun though, and therapeutic after a long day at work. Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - dazza - 24-09-16 Day out on the DRZ with my brother. Nice sensible pace as we haven't been out for a good few months. Very dry and dusty and interesting to see an area usually fully submerged in water almost bone dry in places. I once went round the outside and nearly fully swamped my bike out, today I saw why, the rut on the outside drops about 2ft deeper than the rest. Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - joebloggs - 27-09-16 Got bored waiting for the FZS so picked up another project, well sort of, GSX750ES frame swingarm and bodywork, GSX750F wheels and discs, 600F forks, yokes and brakes (these have proved to be a bit of a miss match and brake mounts on fork legs need a couple of mm milling off each side) GSX750F (05) oil cooled engine and electrics. Found some drawings online that mount the engine to the frame (lower rear mount lines up) so had a friend fab the rest of the mounts. The engine didn't exactly drop in but it is in, just need a SV650 top rear engine bolt and some spacers to complete the transplant. The rest of the chassis is pretty straight forward, Suzuki kindly used the same steering stem and bearings for over a decade so pretty much a case of bolting bits together. Just waiting for a set of 98> carbs to a turn up at the right price and b not cost the earth. And a few little bits and pieces and hopefully it'll be running Not planning on spending anytime modifying it further (well if you can call an engine transplant stock lol) but will be twin shocking it purely from a cost point of view (no modern shocks fit, originals 30 yrs old and at £300+ for an aftermarket item I can fit a pair of TEC's and still have change) Hope to get it on the road asap and carry on with the mods on the FZS.
