The Fabia 2 is ULEZ compliant, as is anything Euro 4 or better.

And I can carry an 8'2" surfboard in it Thumbup

I’ m used to full sized cars for their comfort and ride quality. Currently borrowing my sons Corsa, which feels like a dodgem and is trying its best to shake out a few fillings.?

RE: Whoever posts last is best - fazerscotty - 04-11-24

A Corsa! I didn't think any of those were still on the road.......

He’s had it from new, only 20k on the clock. Only snag for me borrowing it is being only a 2 door, the doors are so long you need a wide parking space to get out of the car.?

I need wide parking bays as well - cos I is fat!

Haha lol. If only you knew.
I saw a nurse the other day and she reckons I have lost 12 kilos over the last 4 months! I'm still the wrong side of 100k though.

Wow, that’s 2 stoneish in real money, well done that’s really good going. That’s approx the weight of your riding gear (jacket, boots, trousers, helmet and gloves). A few years ago I crept up to the 15 and a half stone mark, got the pushbike out and tried to eat a bit healthier and lost 2 stone. When MCT did my fork overhaul he needed to know my riding weight, and dressed to ride I was back to 15.5 stone.
My problem times are Christmas and holiday. Just get rid of the Xmas weight, and it’s time to go on holiday ?…..an endless cycle, a bit like the Forth Bridge.

RE: Whoever posts last is best - fazerscotty - 10-11-24

I am trying a change in how I eat. Breakfast and lunch - I'll eat whatever I want too. Evening - nothing at all, unless I really feel I need it.
Seems to be working - the Dr's & Diabetic nurse were a bit sceptical, but the proof is in the scales! I'm going to stick it out until the New Year and see where I am.
LOL - I have just thought of a benefit to the weight loss - I can get another bike in the garage as I won't need so much space to move! Happy Days

Well done Thumbup every cloud and all that. I have read that many people maintain a weight that they’re happy with, by not eating after 6pm. Logically I suppose you need a decent breakfast to fuel you for the day ahead and taper off as the day progresses. Better start looking at new bike options Thumbup

"Better start looking at new bike options"

Haha lol - I wish. Madame purchased a trike. Honda VF750 (V4 Sabre?) based, with a Reliant axle. Garage Tetris is going to be my new hobby over the winter (if and when I'm not working).

RE: Whoever posts last is best - robbo - 18-11-24

If the snow comes, a trike will be just the job.

RE: Whoever posts last is best - fazerscotty - 19-11-24

The snow has arrived - the trike is deep in the garage lol (and it's too frigging cold to do anything!). I spent the weekend at Goodwood, working in the cold, so I'm currently warming up still.

Only on petrol engines. For diesel it needs to be Euro6 so my sons 2004 Focus is compliant but my 2012 Audi isn't.

There's always one at the table changing the subject LOL.

RE: Whoever posts last is best - robbo - 20-11-24

Bit of a curveball…back on the dreaded ULEZ subject. It’s caused a lot of people, including me, to get rid of perfectly good serviceable cars.

RE: Whoever posts last is best - Grahamm - 20-11-24

In central London I’d agree, still terrible for tube travellers. However the areas that border the M25, outside of the North/South Circular, have not and do not have poor air quality, and show no difference since a year of ULEZ. The only effect has been the destruction of perfectly good cars causing a lot of expense to the people, in the main, who can least afford it.

RE: Whoever posts last is best - Grahamm - 22-11-24

Those "perfectly good cars" still produce pollution which accumulates in the central areas of London.

RE: Whoever posts last is best - agricola - 22-11-24

I've always swung towards the view that the ULEZ scheme is simply a revenue raiser in disguise. Heres a couple of snippets to ponder.

Tests by Emissions Analytics, an engineering consulting company based in England, found tires produce about 2,000 times more particle pollution by mass than tailpipes. Although not regulated, those emissions exceed the legal particle limits for exhaust.9 Jul 2023

Tire wear emissions emit 1,850 times more pollution into the environment than exhaust pollutants, according to new research. This is particularly concerning for electric vehicles, as tire wear emissions increase for heavier vehicles, and EVs weigh more than their gas counterparts due to their batteries.7 Mar 2024 Washington Post
