Rest of the gang weighed in and a quite day was had by all (even with 6 dogs in the house). However, things then began to unfold. Early hours of 27th, my missus went down with something nasty. It wasn't looking good as this kicked off her IBS. A day later I also succumbed to what we now think was Norovirus. By the sound of it she had a similar illness last Thursday, on her day off as well. Lasted a couple of days, not nice at all. Good luck with the book :thumbup . I’ll give it a miss and just try to have a strict diet this month, dig out my pushbike, might even ride it, and see what the scales say at the end of the month. ![]() Re: Whoever posts last is best - fazerscotty - 12-01-24 and see what the scales say at the end of the month. ![]() Hopefully not "No Coaches Please" :rollin :rollin :rollin Re: Whoever posts last is best - robbo - 02-02-24 Well, dry January is over, and coupled with a bit of a diet lost 12.2lbs. Quite happy with that as losing a few pounds when you’re getting old isn’t easy. However it’s the Dragon Rally next weekend , so will no doubt put it all back :lol , hopefully not though. I've stopped trying, not that I ever started :lol . My problem is (and the Doc agreed), that when I work away, there is very little, easily obtainable, sensible food options and you can easily end up bored of pub grub as the menu's literally the same everywhere you go. (That's primarily due to pubs no longer physically cooking, but nuking pre-prepared food instead). (That's primarily due to pubs no longer physically cooking, but nuking pre-prepared food instead). I suppose working away from home on a fairly regular basis, even for short periods, does put the brakes on eating proper food. As you say, most pub grub is batch cooked and then frozen, to be nuked at a later date. You do wonder how so many options can be offered on the menu in some smaller places, as their kitchen wouldn’t be big enough if it was all fresh. But then it would be a darn sight dearer. Is working away from home fairly constant throughout the year for you, or more seasonal? |
