Yep, sounds like every other military facility in the UK (apart from the Navy - buses don't run to well in water), but I bet things are different now :lol :lol :lol .
Whilst working at a certain N.Yorks airfield over the last two years, not too far from the Squires Café as it happens, I did bump into a middle aged "lady" whom admitted to attending such evenings. She was shocked to learn that we had a nickname for them - "The Sherburn Commandos" - who were very adept at creeping around undetected in the early hours :rollin :rollin :rollin . Even more shocked when she found out that I'd been a young airman at the very same evenings and that we may have "known" each other :eek :eek :eek

That’s classic :lol :thumbup . The old saying of “It’s a small world””, is never truer. In the early days of the army camp being acquired, the accommodation was Nissen huts. These were later converted to have a central corridor with 2 person rooms off of either side. The corridor had a door at each end. One winter, a room occupied by a couple of serious students, who weren’t there for the craic, had their room filled with snow. Herding a few of the farmer next doors cows down the corridor didn’t go down too well either. Happy days :lol
