Re: Nightshift - Easy Rider 13 - 14-04-13

lol i have the blackout blind option and curtains too..... except my window is HUGE and its difficult to get the blackout blinds to fit exact causing the light bleeding effect!

ear plugs are a must even though i live on the top floor of an apartment block... i use a pair of PJ bottoms and wrap them around my head too....

hows everyones shifts going then?!

Re: Nightshift - Farjo - 16-04-13

The tin foil plan works so long as it's out of any drafts, otherwise it's annoyingly noisy Smile As a bonus I will be protected from North Korean nuclear fallout :thumbup

:rollin

Better make it two sheets thick just to make sure the nuke can't get you! haha!

This is my split week so on tonight and then off till the end of the week but taken an extra day shift on thursday. Spent too much money on the bike over winter and need to replenish the funds a bit... hahaha!  Big Grin

Re: Nightshift - Looney tune - 16-04-13

Been on 7 days a week for over 15 years, no set start/ finish time but average 70-75 hrs a week annually. Salary is pish but job satisfaction is top of the tree. I'm off on Monday which is my 3rd official day off since June 2012, wouldn't swap my job for anything.  Smile Smile Smile

Goodnight/day everyone  :z

Re: Nightshift - Looney tune - 16-04-13

Can be at times but the best part is having no set hours so if the sun comes out I can hop on the bike for a spin then get on with my work when I return  Smile

Re: Nightshift - Dead Eye - 16-04-13

+1 to this Big Grin

I work from home but it is expected of me to be available pretty much 24 / 7 in case of an emergency. I've worked 70+ hour weeks before in the earlier days but thankfully work has quietened down a lot to the point where a busy week is maybe 35 hours? Fixed wage is good for when it gets quiet but can be a bit of a pain when doing a lot of extra hours. But I think its worth having the flexibility to run off and play in the sun if I want to Big Grin

Not been on here for a while, but am I right in thinking you are a gamekeeper, Looney? What do you do, Dead Eye?

Re: Nightshift - Dead Eye - 18-04-13

I write computer software programs - currently I build and maintain the systems for an online insurance broker Tongue

Re: Nightshift - pongeroon - 18-04-13

Oh, OK Smile .
Fair play, clever stuff. I'm not techy at all, and only do what I must with computers. :rolleyes
