Will post a picture when I get to take it out of the garage, started raining as I was finishing up and did not get a chance to take it for a spin. They look good on the Fazer
The pistons are black and look like a teflon coating just like the Fazer 400 Brembos. They are supposed to be the best of the bunch before they changed to radial ones

Yum yum unfazed, this looks like a tasty mod,

Now please tell me how easy it is to do & how plentifull these bad boys are. Smile

A direct replacement, only extra was 4 copper washers for the banjo bolts on the calipers. They even take the same brake pads. The longest part of the job was bleeding the brakes afterwards
I got them on ebay from Germany for £120 incl postage. I was looking for about a month, but they seem come up regularly enough. They are from the 2002/2003 R1. There were plenty of them available in the US at the time.

how are they different to the OEM "Blue spot" calipers? is it just the colour, or are the pistons etc a different size?

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - unfazed - 09-09-13

The major difference I could see was the pistons and the only cosmetic difference is the colour.

I think you remember wrong Nick as there are no dual carriage ways to Mallaig

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Dead Eye - 09-09-13

Went to go out yesterday for a long overdue play in the aim to rack up a few hundred miles but alas it was not meant to be. Got out to the garage and faffed around a bit checking out the air filter... then the bugger wouldn't start again. Spent 10 mins figuring out what was wrong and... the kill switch had been knocked again *sighs*

So left late, then got about 3 miles away and the bike started to splutter and come to a halt... crap... god damn fuel pipe is kinked under the tank and I forgot to bring any tools with me. Half hour later my house mate turns up and I get the bike running again. By this point big black clouds have come over and are looking menacing so gave up and rode home - it just wasn't meant to be. Turned out that the rest of the day was actually quite nice with no rain but I bet if I'd have continued it would have thrown it down just to spite me Tongue

That's the very one and it was dry for me too, it didn't start raining until Crianlarich all the way down Loch Lomond side then cleared up at the Erskine Bridge

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - red98 - 09-09-13

Don't know why I remember it that way then, but there's a longish section that's been improved recently, 30 mph limit signs on all the bends?

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - unfazed - 09-09-13

First trip with these on today. Strangely enough these give more feel than the Blue Spot did with the stainless brake lines. Big Grin

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - mickvp - 09-09-13

took the rear wheel off and dropped it off at my mechanic mate to have the tyre swapped over - then ill get the front tomorrow Smile

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - mickvp - 14-09-13

refitted my front wheel to  the bike after the tyre getting changed. then noticed they had put the tyre on backwards...so it will need to go back again. tw$ts  :thumbdown

Not suprising considering the condition of that old air cleaner :eek

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - fazersharp - 14-09-13

I have a new air filter waiting to fit too. Do you have any tips from just doing this yourself
