Re: Advice please Foccers! - midden - 07-11-13 Yes quite a nice twist of fate I'd say and they do motor without need for tax insurance or head gear Oh and I'm sure Red98 wouldn't mind hanging behind you with his onboard cam. He also has a towbar for sale that may fit it too ![]() Re: Advice please Foccers! - nick crisp - 07-11-13 Why not try buying all the bits back that you sold from your bike, and source some forks etc..........er, ok, that's a no then? :lol Re: Advice please Foccers! - ChristoT - 07-11-13 (07-11-13, 05:59 PM)midden link Wrote: Yes quite a nice twist of fate I'd say and they do motor without need for tax insurance or head gear Did you not see my FZ-0 at Portsmouth then? ![]() (Piccy courtesy of Fireblake). Nick - I'm tempted to get a project bike, and wait till July to insure and ride it. Depends on a) funds, b) whether I'll have room to do it, and c) how deperate I get!! :b Re: Advice please Foccers! - nick crisp - 07-11-13 Loads of people don't ride thro the winter months, so a project you can be tinkering around with is probably a good idea. Plenty of helpful folks on here to guide you if you get stuck. Could be a good cheap way to do it if you buy the right bike (i.e. frame and engine ok etc). But seriously, what's to stop you keeping what you've got left of yours and make that your project? Gotta be cheaper than selling it and then starting again? Re: Advice please Foccers! - noggythenog - 07-11-13 Ive been so tempted to flog my bike recently, probably just winter blues....plus theres just something niggling me because I know it is a bit dodgy looking & i really cant be focced spending any more money on it.you almost had yourself a noggyfighter Cristo but i think i probably should get another season outta it to justify all my spending.. Youll have to be the project type of person to do a rebuild...im really not, it was through necessity & all i want is a nice bike to ride but you seemed to enjoy the whole trailer thing so maybe this is the way forward. Re: Advice please Foccers! - CRH - 07-11-13 ime sure yours is worth more than a grand nogg?....i wouldnt let it go for that!!... Re: Advice please Foccers! - Yamazer-92 - 07-11-13 Christo why is the premium going up so much when you are telling them your bike is restricted?? My GS which I had for a year restricted was about £270 or something TPFT and my Fazer was no different if I had it restricted or not, I may have not mentioned it to the insurer I can't remember because I was literally only restricted for about 4 weeks on it. Seems really strange that it's going up £1000 though when you're only adding some metal discs... When restricted, that drops to five. Remember also, I now have a claim stacked against me (which has gone 100% my fault). Re: Advice please Foccers! - noggythenog - 07-11-13 Im guessing that companies see a restrictor as a general indicator of higher risk, bit of a shame really coz the restrictors supposed to lower the risk...sad state of affairs really. Im with the others still for a gpz500 Re: Advice please Foccers! - midden - 07-11-13 (07-11-13, 07:09 PM)ChristoT link Wrote: [quote author=midden link=topic=10576.msg111861#msg111861 date=1383843558] Did you not see my FZ-0 at Portsmouth then? ![]() (Piccy courtesy of Fireblake). I could keep with my mates on there bigger bikes(mostly)and so much fun Finding a runner that will stay a runner should be fun too? Mickey Re: Advice please Foccers! - fireblake - 08-11-13 This looks ok, shame about the paint job though http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1981-GT250-X7-/331060882722?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item4d14c42d22 Don't suppose it'll go at this price? Sounds expensive in pistons etc. Plus, not overly keen on the whole naked scene. Even on the Fazer, I get battered by the wind due to my physical size. Naked will just be painful. Re: Advice please Foccers! - His Dudeness - 08-11-13 It might take a few months longer but if I was you I'd save for the fazer. There's no point investing your money in something you're not going to be happy it. I just want to know what's out there, what options I have. Re: Advice please Foccers! - dazza - 08-11-13 Get yourself on Biker Booty on facebook.... ![]() Re: Advice please Foccers! - Dead Eye - 08-11-13 Do an unrestricted quote and find the cheapest insurers then go to their websites directly. It may be that they don't support the restriction through their aggregator channels - I work in this industry (albeit travel insurance) and the politics of it all is insane. For specialist products (insurance on a restricted bike isn't standard) its often best to go outside of the comparison sites. |
