Tried resizing. Ah good, that seems to have done the trick

The tyre was Z rated, Bstone BT023, less than a thousand miles on it, most at Donington Park. I rarely break speed limits on the roads

The photos are fine on the phone/pc, I suspect its Photobucket trying to get money from my pockets for being over their storage limit. The files are too large to copy straight in from the pc.

Looking around for a new tyre last night, up pops a box asking me if I want to insure the new tyre, I think it was about £3.50 for a year. Does anyone bother with that?

Cant say I've ever heard of tyre insurance? Depends what it covers ?
To be honest you have to ask yourself how many times its happened to you in the years you've been riding? I personally have never even had a puncture so I wouldnt really bother

As for tyres www.bikespeeduk.com have some good end of season deals

Said it covered punctures/blowouts/vandalism. Id need to read the small print before i ever commited, punctures are rare, think I had one on the cruiser some years ago. When the old one is off, Im going to give it a real good look over to try to determine the fault

IF the small print is all good then surely £3.50 a year is an amazing deal isn't it? Does sound too good to be true though.
I always get my tyres from Oponeo now, then get my mechanic to fit them on a loose wheel that i've removed and i always save money compared to riding into a shop and buying/fitting on site.
There's normally 2 prices, the cheaper one takes 2 or 3 days longer for delivery, but it'll still only be about a week or so before it gets to you.

I only saw the offer on the Tyreleader site, no others. On the face of it, it does seem to be a reasonable deal, but i never read the small print as the site wasnt working correclty, so I bought a new BT023 from elsewhere

If you Google tyre insurance it doesn't really make pleasant reading.

I went to wheel the bike out of the garage this morning and it felt heavy.
There was a screw in the rear tyre, and totally flat.
Plugged it for now, and checked it at lunch time and there's no leaks.

[/quote]Pumped it pushed it out of the garage pushed out the 600, pushed the 1000 back in and went off on the 600 to watch a car rally. Big Grin
Tyre is only 600 miles old, will take it off later and use a mushroom patch to fix it permanently.
I think the 1000 is still pissed at me for not taking it to France :lol

It's still worth getting it checked properly, there may be damage inside the carcass that you don't know about.

Fitted FZ1 with a genuine Yam comfort seat I scored on fleebay it doesn't look much different to the original oak plank they come with. Time and a  decent long ride will tell.

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - unfazed - 01-10-19

Mushroomed it, now to rebalance it and put it back on.

If this is the same as mine [with the FZ1] motif on the front,I've found it's a fair bit thicker, on a short run there's not much in it,but on a longer run I find it's better and it doesn't hold your thighs out 'cause it's narrower,if that makes any sense. Smile

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - steve 10562cc - 02-10-19

Yes it is, it's got the motif on the front it seems thicker and the padding feels better quality and more supportive. What I can't work out why they didn't fit this seat a standard other than blatant money making greed.

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - coffee - 02-10-19

I know ,it's just the same with a lot of factory extras, you pay a fortune for the bike and then they rip you off with stuff they should have put on in the first place, they call it originality but that's bullshit, nobody would prefer the std stuff over the custom, and it's ten times worse if you own a Harley!! fucks sake! there's nothing left of the original bike after a couple of years! :lol

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - steve 10562cc - 03-10-19

Harley's are a way of life I was told after I test rode one (not for me) not impressed.

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - coffee - 03-10-19

I had a go on a 1200 Sportster a while ago now,it had slash cuts on and it was set up tracker style,I was away ages ! I didn't want to get off it,the sound and riding position were just perfect for me and I would have done a deal with him for my gen 2 in an instant ,he didn't want to know and looking back I'm kind of glad ,I know they're agricultural and heavy but I'll never forget my ride on that one. :thumbup

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - steve 10562cc - 04-10-19

1200 Sportster was an agriculture tractor the comment the Harley dealer said "it's away of life" was made after I said "it don't go, it won't stop, and won't go round f***ing corners" and I was trying to be polite. Only test rode one because I thought at 60 I was old enough for one I'm never going to be that old.
