Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - Val - 11-09-15 My double buble MRA screen has arrived today. I was not sure why previous owner has changed only 6 of the 7 screen bolts with blue ones. The reason was simple the middle one was stuck and the 3mm allen key hole was rounded. No problemo. Torx T20 and my hammer. Embedded the T20 in the round hole and presto. Than used T15 for the new 3mm allen key bolts. I think I will stop using actual allen keys for small bolts at all. Torx seems better. Now I have a new screen mounted and 7 shiny new blue bolts too :lol ![]() Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - joebloggs - 14-09-15 Halfway through hacksawing my ignition lock off. Friggin grinder out of action due to not being able to remove the tapered mop holder presently stuck fast on the dam thing...... Dam arms about to drop off and thats before I get the file out to finish the job On bright side I went to the post office to collect my headlight bracket, headlight and handlebars V.3 :lol Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - infiniteloop - 14-09-15 I bought one of those radiator covers from the same seller on eBay…what a NIGHTMARE..!!! Mine wasn't even close to fitting & in the end had to return it for a refund. How they can sell these as 'suitable for xxx bike' is beyond me…buyer beware Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - sinto607276 - 14-09-15 (14-09-15, 01:18 PM)infiniteloop link Wrote: I bought one of those radiator covers from the same seller on eBay…what a NIGHTMARE..!!! Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - 3legs - 16-09-15 Replaced oil filter and plugs. I think the filter was put on by a gorilla - it wouldn't come off with a normal filter wrench - I had to resort to the old screwdriver trick - even then the screwdriver just demolished the old filter. See also the state of the plugs, there is no electrode left!! - its a wonder it ran at all Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - Chris - 17-09-15 Wow! been a while since they were looked at last! Should run a lot better now after a wee service 8) Chris Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - joebloggs - 18-09-15 Finished shaving off the ignition lock mount. Looks great but arse of a job without proper tools. (grinders out of commission) Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - joebloggs - 18-09-15 (18-09-15, 05:38 PM)joebloggs link Wrote: Finished shaving off the ignition lock mount. (grinders out of commission) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Want to make a bracket that attaches to the original gauge mount, hopefully that way if I change my mind theres much less metal work involved, of course it will look crap and I'll have to make another but you can always dream Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - joebloggs - 19-09-15 Arrrrrrrrrrr Had a few beers last night so was surprised to be feeling productive when I woke. I thought I'd get on with modifying the remote res bracket, and I did. Only about 5 min after fitting it I remembered cutting out a patten for a new one because I the original will foul the clocks....... :eek Note to self.....Make sure your completely awake in the morning before starting anything..... :o Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - joebloggs - 20-09-15 Decided to go with new bracket fitted under yoke via holes for risers. Bracket made from 3mm alloy, cut with a jigsaw, like butter. Unfortunately theres an issue with the bracket, am not going to show you and tbh you'd not no, but I do, will make another sometime but OK for now. Beer time . ![]() Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - joebloggs - 20-09-15 ![]() Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - Chris - 21-09-15 Looking good, will you not need them angled slightly rather than flat? Need to spend a little more time staring at them before deciding. Need to make another bracket anyway so will make my mind up them. Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - Chris - 21-09-15 Yeah, sometimes you have to try it out on the road to see if it works or not. I found that when setting up my renthal bars. Thought I'd got the button positions/indicators spot on then took it for a run and had to adjust it all a bit. I'd be worries with them that flat the if it rained the clocks would end up as bird baths. :lol Chris Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - joebloggs - 21-09-15 (21-09-15, 06:01 AM)Chris link Wrote: Yeah, sometimes you have to try it out on the road to see if it works or not. Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - joebloggs - 21-09-15 Sprayed my gauge mount and the underside of the clock's. Reshaped said clock mount to clear headstock nut and took patern from it. Cut sprocket cover to allo gear change linkage to be rotaded 180 degrees sprayed some other parts but experiment and need to wait for paint to cure before I can get to excited Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - joebloggs - 22-09-15 Needs repainting as didn't wait for paint to cure properly before handling, not really an issue did 2 in about 10 min start to finish. Of course now I'll have to paint the cam cover to match doh ![]() ![]() Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - joebloggs - 22-09-15 Modified sprocket cover, gears are now one up five down. ![]() Re: What have you done to your FZS600 bike today - fazersharp - 22-09-15 (22-09-15, 03:25 PM)joebloggs link Wrote:Modified sprocket cover, gears are now one up five down. How do you do that then ----- do you have to put the engine in upside down.
