Bloody brilliant ! I have printed the file off for future reference. Thank-you.Desperation with frustration is often the mother of invention :lol Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Hugh Mungus - 23-12-17 I have used a similar technique in the past but didn't fit a circlip, just the bolt and washer. It worked well but I didn't cover the same kind of mileages as it was on a DT175MX. Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Anquetil - 31-12-17 I fitted a Tutoro chain oiler on the 'winter' 600 this morning. At dinnertime I went for a 20 mile spin to check the flow rate. I had to decrease it a bit. Started raining half an hour after I got back. I shall tidy the zip ties up in the morning and, weather permitting, go for a longer ride to fine tune it.. Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Anquetil - 01-01-18 A ride to Rhos on sea. Coffee and teacake at the cafe on the prom, sitting in the sun. A great start to 2018 ! Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Fazerider - 01-01-18 Went to work for the first time in a fortnight. No problem starting, but it was firing on 3 every time I tried even gentle acceleration with less than 4000 rpm. Hopefully the journey home will be a bit smoother now the electrics have had a chance to dry out fully over the hot engine. Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Anquetil - 06-01-18 A ride to Ruthin, Cerrigydrudion, Bala, Ruthin, Wrexham. About 5 degrees out of the breeze. Sat by Bala lake with a flask of coffee for 30 minutes. A group of 5 bikers arrived whilst I was there. Virtually traffic free roads. One reason that I enjoy winter riding so much. Just finished washing and drying the bike. Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Dudeofrude - 11-01-18 Fitted my some Oxford L.E.D turn signals today. After much pissing about with resistors and stupid Yamaha connections I finally got them working but then to my dismay realised they don't fit without some kind of spacer/blanking plate? I've used the stock bases for now but looks awful. The back will need something similar too, Does anyone know what I'm looking for? I have my feed screw set at about 1/3rd of a turn open get about 700/750 miles before needing to top up again current chain and sprockets 15,000 miles, front sprocket showing a bit of wear, but I do have a tight spot on the chain, no noticeable wear on the rear. I even have the feed set up as you have. Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Grayo - 12-01-18 (11-01-18, 10:35 PM)Dudeofrude link Wrote: Fitted my some Oxford L.E.D turn signals today. You need these. I bought these for my 2008 Gen 2 a couple of years ago. Got mine from M&P's though, not this American site and they were cheaper. Maybe contact Oxford direct and find out where your local dealer is. https://www.motosport.com/oxford-indicator-spacers?mmy=yamaha%3Bfzs1000%3B2008&mmy_source=pdp Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - mountaingoat - 12-01-18 (31-12-17, 03:48 PM)Anquetil link Wrote: I fitted a Tutoro chain oiler on the 'winter' 600 this morning. I didn't check on here to see how anybody else had done it before so my route is a bit tighter than Anquetil's one. Seems to flow just fine though, I'm working all weekend so will see how it holds up on the commute! Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Anquetil - 12-01-18 Hi Lew. I have done a few hundred miles since fitting it and I am delighted with the results. Yesterday, I was out in the rain and mud covered roads for 90 miles and the chain was lubricated and clean when I got home. I bought an oiler as I was getting through a chain and sprockets in about 12000 miles, probably not helped by riding every winter in all the salt and crap. My mate has an oiler fitted and he is on 38000 miles, and his transmission is still in good order. This prompted me to fit one. I take your point about the excess plastic piping. First one I have ever fitted. I wasn't sure where to route it. I used to lubricate my chains in the tin of heated grease many years ago ! I knew there must be some kind of nicer looking solution to it haha I was ready to use washers is nothing else bit these are perfect ? Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Anquetil - 12-01-18 That is much neater than my routing effort, mountaingoat. I shall have to have a rethink. Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Fazerider - 12-01-18 (12-01-18, 06:27 PM)Anquetil link Wrote: That is much neater than my routing effort, mountaingoat. I shall have to have a rethink.I fitted a Scottoiler inside the left hand tail fairing and fed the delivery tube down the right hand side, crossing over the front of the swingarm pivot then under the left side of the arm. Aside from a couple of tiewraps it’s scarcely visible. The oiler reservoir itself isn’t vertical, but that hasn’t been a problem. The Tutoro’s shape is obviously a bit different, but it might be possible to site it in the same place. Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Anquetil - 12-01-18 Thanks for that, Fazerider. All suggestions are welcome. Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Anquetil - 14-01-18 A ride to Llandudno today. Saw many bikers out in this lovely weather. Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Creaky - 14-01-18 Nice pics Anquetil and lovely weather! Took my bike out for an hour or so this morning. Not sunny up here but dry and cold so not wet roads to speak of so bike was still clean after 40 odd miles. Love the way my Fazer simply starts up after a few weeks of non-use and settles into an even tickover ready for the off without any drama. Quick check of chain slack, tyre pressures and oil level and we're ready.
