Now, those are names to get me motivated - Llanberis, Pen y Pass, Beddgelert etc. I'll have to get the camping kit loaded up at some point this year... Smile

Just been out on my little evening ride, and did the gravelled surface road again. It's settled a little now, but still had to be careful - brake early and gently for the corners, use a little more rear brake than normal etc. But something inordinately satisfying about negotiating a dodgy surface smoothly and safely. Got quite a good rhythm going - enjoyed that!  Smile

Out on a 80 mile slow ride to scrub the tyres in and I is impressed already with the new tyres.

As I live in Spain met up with a group I ride with this morning went to a bike meet in Oliva (Costa Blanca North).
Literally 100's of bikes Boom Boom music and stunts, good fun and even the Guada Civil were enjoying the fun.
This old suzi bandit had this massive bell mouth megaphone fitted. I think the plan was to blow the engine. The guy was revving it until the valves were bouncing /rev limiter ?
Anyway there was a 4 foot flame shooting out of it and what a noise, good day out just to many bloody Harleys for my liking

Went on a Rideout with the Solent Advanced Motorcyclists.

Including the distance getting from Portsmouth to the start point (at Ower Services) and then getting back from Stockbridge via the A3057, Morestead Road, B2150 and a run down through World's End I'd clocked up 225 miles Smile

Fitted some new foot rest hangers, freshly painted gear lever and linkage.

Had a play with different fuel maps to see if I could up the economy a little.
Didn't work, just made the bike slower. Full fat map reinstalled 8)

Then I demanked the chain. Sad

Charged the (slightly) flat battery, polished the scratches on the tail (from carrying a package, put some fuel in (from a can), started her up.

Total miles ? 0

Looks so much better with the rear mudguard removed - much sleeker. I would do it to my gen 1, but as I plan to do a bit of touring, I want something to help keep the luggage clean! Nice tho.

nothing flings up to the rear pack at all, stayed muck free.


I have a double bubble dark screen coming anyday for it, then i can put the touring screen back together(which i cut in half) :lol

£250 on tyres  :'(  Being fitted next Tuesday so I'll get another 400-500 miles out of these before they go.  Front will have done over 21k by then.

Nearly posted same yesterday Andy. Was going to say "none of the above unless someone's said rode to work then home again".
Did the "gravel lane" again just now. I had my big off on a road that was actually named Gravel Lane in Chigwell. Now I'm getting to know this one pretty well too, which doesn't bode well for my survival expectations! They've done even more of it now, but I think once it's settled down properly it'll be a blast. Hardly any traffic on it at this time in the evening either.

I turned a corner a few months back on a road covered in gravel I ended up going at about 2mph with both feet down for about 500 meters with really nice people going passed me at about 30mph spraying gravel at me not nice.
