Didn't know you'd had an off Pat, hope you're ok, not much damage to bike?

I seem to specialise in low speed offs these days, but could be considered a good thing on balance  :\  Try hedges, they're generally quite forgiving  Wink

Noggy he will be your friend in the next few months if he isn't already, you get a 15 min kip with one of his episodes.

I brought it today

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Huw - 24-05-16

I found out I can't change the oil filter as easily as it's meant to be. Didn't realise the exhaust pipes were after market jobs when I bought it..... no gap for hand to go in nor filter to come out  :'(

Are you sure that its the pipes that are the issue and not the filter that is bigger than an OEM yam one -- is it an OEM yam filter
If your pipes are black then I dont know any one who makes and or would spend money on standard steel replacements, so if they are shiny then they are after market pipes but I dont think they should get in the way of a proper filter.

I'm going by Haynes and a look at one other Fazer that was parked up in town. Pictures on here of other bikes confirm there would normally be a different angle to the pipes. My profile has a pic of it but doesn't give a good view to go by I don't think.

Did not hit anything :eek I think I followed old road signs which were not removed on a realigned road, cannot remember anything from a few seconds before the off until I got home. A&E doc said it is common with concussion.
Downey had a good old laugh telling me how we came home and I disputing it :lol
Memory of 3 things, seeing a kerb and grass, (which I clipped, the kerb not the grass  :lol ) a long straight trying to hold the fairing with my knee and exiting the tunnel.
Still off work with a headache that is slowly improving. First time banging my head in an off in 40 years. Black eye was something else, but nearly gone now 8)
Parts for the bike should be here next week, but still trying to decide on what helmet to buy, had a Shark Vision R. At lease I have a spare HJC which I can use until I make my mind up.
Drove the car today for the first time, concentration levels seems to have returned, but will wait until the weekend to go back on the 600.
Got the usual questions  from a few non bikers, "Are you going to give up the bike now?" and they get my usual answer, "Would you give up driving cars if you crashed one?"

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - esetest - 25-05-16

Rode it to Clifton , stopped at McDonalds on the way back , fitted the Rentec rack  .

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Grahamm - 26-05-16

Gave it a check-over as the MOT is due. Brakes, lights and rear tyre is ok, but front is down on the wear markers, so phoned Russ (who's back at Burrfields in Portsmouth) to get a Bridgestone T30 on Friday.

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - mr self destruct - 26-05-16

Had a new front tyre fitted and killed time by test riding an MT09. Last did that about three years ago and they seem to have sorted the throttle response, otherwise it was pretty much the same as I remember.
Sat on an XSR900 too, which I found a lot more comfortable.

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - esetest - 26-05-16

Rode it to the accountants , then rode it home via dads house .

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Grahamm - 28-05-16

Yesterday I took it to Russ' Tyres in Portsmouth (he's back at Claybank Road off Burrfields Bridge, but in the unit at the end of the road) for a Bridgestone T30 to replace the old 023 front tyre.

We also had fun playing with his new laser rear-wheel alignment tool and figuring out how to get it to work when the laser was being blocked by the centre stand (and the spacers the manufacturers supply with it not actually being any use!). He did that for free and tightend my chain a tadge which is more excellent service and he's well recommended :thumbup

Then I went out for a quick ride along the M27 up the M3 and back down the Morestead Road to scrub it in and decided I really like it Smile

It felt a little lively when I first set out, but I got used to the feeling quickly and it was really nice through the twisties, well planted and giving good feedback.

Lots of fun Smile

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - joebloggs - 28-05-16

Ordered the steel for my bespoke seat subframe, £23 + delivery including 2 mandrel bends to match contour of tank. Just hope my measurments work out OK or I'll have a very elaborate doorstop Big Grin
