Yeah, picked up a set of wheels off ebay for £40, thought they were a bargain until I had them powder coated and a set of spacers to sit them under the arches, should have gone for a set of deep dished, may have worked out about the same price.......

They look great, I must say I prefer steelys to alloys I used to have Fords with the Steel Rostyles, loved the look of them. Ahhh! my old Mk1 Lotus Cortina. Would be worth a shed load of money now.

Always like to know how far my bikes go once the light comes on so strapped a 5l can of Shell's finest to the back and went for a spin. 49 miles from light to dry, 227 miles from brimmed to dry. That's around 49mpg. That'll do pig, that'll do.

My KTM 950 SuperEnduro with a Safari tanks does over 55 from the light which is the biggest reserve I've ever had. Don't really care how far, but do like to know.

Cheers

Markie

No bike / rider / riding style is the same. So I just like to know, what "I" get, even with different states of tune / wear / bend in the float rod  etc things will be different. I honestly don't care what the mpg / distance to dry actually is, but I want to know if I need to look for petrol "now" or I can ride home and then to work tomorrow Smile I can't see myself ever working out mpg again!

Cheers

Markie

Replaced my front shock springs.

Slightly longer than original so should give me more feedback and was pretty hard to put the caps back on but eventually sorted and tightened up :thumbup

Now on look out for spring compression tool to do my rear spring replacement Smile

Might even look at getting the rear shock powder coated a different colour as purple doesn't really go with my red bike Sad

Yes it's standard pogo :lol and with most of the bike it's been on there since 1998 and done 28,400 miles but I'm gradually getting through the bits and replacing them :thumbup
My Mrs went away a few years ago so I wouldn't have that hassle :uhuh

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - dickturpin - 03-05-16

I also tried the can of fuel on the back and ran it dry a couple of years ago. I also got 50 miles.....thought it was never going to run out!

Know the feeling! After about 35-40 miles I was wondering if someone had slipped a couple of extra litres in.....

Hey I'm going to order my new rear shock today but there seems to be two Shocks for the FZS600 on the Hagon website, is it a different shock for the earlier fazers. Can anyone tell me the first four letters of a say 1998 Fazer FZS600 frame number? Ta :thumbup

Ordered a new silencer to exhaust pipe gasket on Sat am from Wemoto-arrived this morning-now fitted, having scraped away residue of previous gasket and installed new one with a little copper grease. All secure & tight! :lol
