Re: POLITE NOTICE: You're Nicked - darrsi - 16-02-18 Was following an Audi Q7 yesterday that presumably had changed the lights for his rear number plate to blue ones. did actually look quite good to be honest, not sure if a traffic cop would agree though? Number plate lights you shouldn't be abel to see from the rear of the car as they are white normally. What you are probably seeing is the reflection which, believe it or not, is actually legal.
No, these were blatantly blue lights, they really stood out and i even got closer to have a good look. Re: POLITE NOTICE: You're Nicked - slappy - 16-02-18 Going to work this morning I saw a car with a strip of very bright blue leds all the way along the front bumper and when the dickhead overtook me in a 30 zone I saw on his rear bumper two full length bumper strips of leds again, one strip was red and the other strip was green, but I was passing through that shithole Bradford at the time so its probably normal there. Re: POLITE NOTICE: You're Nicked - fazersharp - 17-02-18 As side note why is it that you have to have illuminated rear numberplate but not the front ? They have Ambulances still covered in all their stickers etc, a lot of Police vans (some still with the Cages in the back), Bikes, Catering vans, etc. What do you do with those? Re: POLITE NOTICE: You're Nicked - focced_off - 26-02-18 On my "big bike" lessons, we had a biker overtake us with a "POLITE NOTICE" bib on. Like above. I could hear my instructor cursing and swearing at him/her in my headset!... He disapproved majorly! :lol Re: POLITE NOTICE: You're Nicked - celticdog - 27-02-18 (26-02-18, 02:47 PM)focced_off link Wrote: On my "big bike" lessons, we had a biker overtake us with a "POLITE NOTICE" bib on. Re: POLITE NOTICE: You're Nicked - Dudeofrude - 27-02-18 What I dont get is the fact that every 'biker' I know hates these jackets and usually the people that wear them.... so who is fucking buying um haha At what point does anyone decide it's a good idea to make yourself universally hated by both bikers and cagers Re: POLITE NOTICE: You're Nicked - tommyardin - 27-02-18 (27-02-18, 08:59 AM)Dudeofrude link Wrote: What I dont get is the fact that every 'biker' I know hates these jackets and usually the people that wear them.... so who is fucking buying um haha Cough!
We are not talking about just a hi viz - I use one of them when riding- its the pretending to be the police that gets peoples goat. I don't see how it could possibly help safety in any way because POLITE is written on back of the vest Re: POLITE NOTICE: You're Nicked - Grahamm - 02-03-18 (02-03-18, 08:17 PM)fazersharp link Wrote: I don't see how it could possibly help safety in any way because POLITE is written on back of the vest You've never had a motorist sitting six feet off your rear wheel?? And the fake ploice is more likely to antagonise the driver behind you, like you said he is only 6 feet from your rear wheel so he has already established that he is a nob Re: POLITE NOTICE: You're Nicked - YamFazFan - 03-03-18 (02-03-18, 07:59 PM)Grahamm link Wrote:
At the point where you figure that your personal safety is more important that giving a foc what others think about you. cf people who wear dark clothes and cycle with no lights who mock those who use lights and wear hi-viz when cycling...
If impersonating a Policeman is the only way to ensure safety then it's time to call it a day and pack-up riding. Re: POLITE NOTICE: You're Nicked - steve 10562cc - 03-03-18 Might be an enforced lay off riding magistrates take a very dim view of impersonating a police officer Re: POLITE NOTICE: You're Nicked - YamFazFan - 03-03-18 Have you noticed how you never see the term 'Polite Notice' displayed anywhere else?. It's not on any road signs telling you to slow down or keep you're distance. A certain type of personality is in their element with things like this. You can just picture the smug grin as the bloke behind slams his anchors on unnecessarily. |
