Re: cafe racer project - nobrakes - 23-10-17 Maybe you can find some inspiration from this beauty https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZbprB5pa5Q Re: cafe racer project - brooker81 - 23-10-17 i like bits of that cosmetically. but too standard in the whole Re: cafe racer project - F4celess - 23-10-17 (23-10-17, 09:06 AM)brooker81 link Wrote: i like bits of that cosmetically. but too standard in the whole Apart from the tail change, plus removed front fairing (hence aftermarket headlight added) etc, its run of the mill. Tidy obviously, but mainly the usual unfaired mods. Brooker - what bike are your USD Forks from - An R1 / 6? So the triple tree was also from the donor bike, that's been modified to fit the front end of the Fazer? Are you doing all this work yourself - the machining? Re: cafe racer project - brooker81 - 23-10-17 They are used forks from a r6 13s 2009. The work is being carried out by a friend with who has a garden workshop (which i'm helping out the best i can) and learning some bits along the way. He has great contacts as MTC exhuasts(Martin) are going to make me a one of ti system to link up with the can ive gone for. But yes me and the mate are hopefully gonna do it all ourselfs to keep the cost down well aprt from the parts that is. Re: cafe racer project - Disorderlypunk - 23-10-17 holy crap you have got moving fast on that one - so far i have done bugger all really apart from order a r6 seat and took some measurements cant do anything yet anyhow as got a house move to plan Re: cafe racer project - F4celess - 23-10-17 (23-10-17, 11:20 AM)Disorderlypunk link Wrote: holy crap you have got moving fast on that one Yeah noticed that - from watching your channel. :lol Joking mate. :b Re: cafe racer project - F4celess - 23-10-17 (23-10-17, 11:17 AM)brooker81 link Wrote: They are used forks from a r6 13s 2009. That's a BIG help, when you have the workshop facilities on tap - plus the knowledge to take it to the next level. Hence what you've achieved so far here. Unfortunately while my bike is garaged, I don't have the workshop tools, or the contacts really. :rolleyes Re: cafe racer project - Disorderlypunk - 23-10-17 (23-10-17, 11:25 AM)F4celess link Wrote: Yeah noticed that - from watching your channel. :lol Joking mate. :b thanks lol - all hectic here its getting annoying as no time for the bikes Re: cafe racer project - brooker81 - 23-10-17 It is a BIG help you right but don't get me wrong i have find the money for parts/labour (not that ive paid owt yet) i still have to think of the ideas for the look of the bike etc etc. its by no way hand it to him and he will gi ve me it back Re: cafe racer project - brooker81 - 25-10-17 Bit more progress. Seems a "Bible" for fitting USD forks on the Fazer... https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/fazer1000/r1-fork-conversion-guide-t3408.html#.WU1PlVG1u2w Re: cafe racer project - brooker81 - 26-10-17 It is the bible for fitting to a fzs1000 not a 600. Thanks though thats mike on here who posted it. Also the forks are already fitted having a bastard of a job now with the swingarm conversion and the rear subframe. Swapping the Swingarm out for a (Supersport) wider one, the rear sprocket will then be out of alignment with the front - how is that compensated, so the chain runs smoothy? Re: cafe racer project - brooker81 - 26-10-17 As i say the front is done. The swingarm will be spot on ive the right man on the job. Re: cafe racer project - brooker81 - 07-11-17 Rear swingarm is lined up, few custom bits had to be made to make it fit. No chance of getting in the workshop now till thursday so will have to wait until then to make the shock fit correctly. Hopefully by the end of the weekend the rear end should be complete and fitted to the bike then onto the exhaust system and seat unit. Re: cafe racer project - brooker81 - 13-11-17 Went mad with the hacksaw at the weekend in prep for the rear seat unit also the r6 rear is nearly ready to go in. R6 shock is in but needs a few custom bits to make it fit correctly but i'm hoping it will be rolling by the weekend. Now just to pick the seat unit and get fabricating the new rear subframe up and attempt to get the oem airbox out(which is a cunt of a job) Re: cafe racer project - brooker81 - 20-11-17 more updates... ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: cafe racer project - brooker81 - 24-11-17 seat placed on today.... this thing is gonna look the dogs... ![]() Re: cafe racer project - brooker81 - 19-12-17 Little update bike is in the workshop at the moment for a new custom set of headers to meet up with my can. Hopefully have the bike back early in the new year, before it went i fitted the new rearsets and gear linkages and they all line up ok. hopefully get the seat done and finish modding the tank so house the electrics after they are shortened up about 3 foot.
