I didn't really get that either. I've always enjoyed Top Gear, even in it's old half hour format, but i did start to find some of the recent 'project' features a bit tiresome & pointless tho. The ambulance building one a few episodes back is a case in point. The same joke over & over :z. But the car testing features & road trips were usually top drawer entertainment.

Guy Martin would do a good job as long as they include bikes and canal boats, but seriously need a translator lol.
I reckon they will bury it, has certainly had it's day in current format.
I think Clarkson has serious issues going on inside his head, even his Mrs has had enough of him and told him to sling his hook.
One thing though he will not go hungry, cannot be short of a few Quid eh!!

A colleague I respect once hit another colleague - knocking him down - for some stupid loss of temper. It wasn't right. It was a decent punch - both very large men. However, people make mistakes. I still respect both of those colleagues as good, hard workingg experts.
Also, I'm not sure what really happened. All we get is news... news often lie, or give you just some pieces of information, so you don't get the correct picture, view. So I can't judge, or support anyone by just reading scarce reports.
I liked this though. Spoke and handled like real gentleman. One of the better aspects of British mentality, no offence made, no harsh words, but made clear his view and not stabbing his colleague in the back, in spite of the scandal:

Eddie Mair pointing out that not having your contract renewed isn't the same thing as being sacked seemed to strike a raw nerve with Alan Yentob (Radio 4 "PM" 25/3/15).
Despite Savile, BBC management has moved the bare minimum from its position that established talent is untouchable.

I see Guy Martin is the favourite to replace Clarkson.....maybe get a few bikes on the show if he gets an offer and takes it.
I don't think he is the right choice though, as he's no wordsmith and may struggle with interviews etc
