Re: safe experts - Dead Eye - 30-11-14 (30-11-14, 11:45 AM)noggythenog link Wrote:
Too bad Darrsi i've already guessed 180 & im pretty greedy........i might share the prize depending on what it is. My theory was that it cant be 100kg or less because people can squat that and just pinch it.......albeit i wouldnt be escaping very quickly.......a tonne would become uneconomical............&'the physical size would need to be massive.......so as a compromise of all factors then i came up with 180kg..........50kg for each side section, 20kg each for the front back top and bottoms...........180kg. 8)
I agree that people can squat 100kg (I can now) BUT the average joe who doesn't go to the gym probably can't... a few months ago, I would struggle to squat 60-70kg, same with deadlifts. I'm almost at the point that I can deadlift the weight of my car engine... not that I'd ever try to :\ So, by your same logic that's how I came up with 120kg - I almost went with 140 though ![]() Re: safe experts - darrsi - 30-11-14 Judging by the keyhole cover what are we looking at, 20 inches high? Re: safe experts - noggythenog - 30-11-14 Thats how i was trying to analyse it deadeye coz simillar to you i can squat circa 100kg for repetitions and im pretty average...likewise i dunno how much i could deadlift as im scared of 1RM and foccin up my back but i regularly do 4 sets of 8 at 100kg.so i dunno if i was wanting to lift something once and dump it on a truck then i reckon id manage the 140kg.......tricky one as it would be a front squat too. So on that basis then the big boys could probably squat or deadlift a 180kg but the probability goes down as theres just less people capable of that.....so as a happy medium i see 180kg as a good weight........i think im trying to convince myself though ![]() I love how scientific Reds thread has got 8) What is the prize by the way Red??? Re: safe experts - J_Dub - 30-11-14 My guess, it's got a load of old paperwork in it and weighs 253Kg. It would look good cleaned up and repainted. Re: safe experts - YamFazFan - 30-11-14 I'm guessing 110kg & it contains a dazzling bicycle light ![]() Re: safe experts - bri h - 30-11-14 If you never had the key I would have told you that the serial number is on the back of the door. Re: safe experts - red98 - 01-12-14 Sorry foccers for the lack of updates, had a few problems with wifi in the red household, all sorted now........safe measures... Height..........24in width..........18in depth..........18in Some good weight guesses but could do with some content guesses.....will update later ![]() Re: safe experts - YamFazFan - 01-12-14 Can we have a clue....have you booked a round-the-world cruise & put a deposit down on a luxury car today? :lol Re: safe experts - noggythenog - 01-12-14 What is in it..........my guess is.......Nothing. why would someone sell a safe with something still in it if they had the key....doesn't make sense. so the answer is....Nothing....or air. Re: safe experts - red98 - 01-12-14 Ok...catch up time......I wish yamfazfan :lol........noggy, your input on weight is very good, infact iam surprised how close you and a few others are getting.....no prizes for micks guess of 65 kgs :rollin :rollin :rollin.......as you can guess I weighed it today but not going to tell as I think we can get a bit more mileage out of this thread so keep the guesses coming ![]() Re: safe experts - darrsi - 01-12-14 I was gonna say more, but, 194kg. I stand by my original guessyology...............Live by the sword....die by the sword.......live by the weight....die by the weight.....quite fitting considering im a fat foccer :b Re: safe experts - red98 - 01-12-14 Top man noggy....you stick with you first guess, iam thinking of changing mine :lol Re: safe experts - YamFazFan - 01-12-14 (01-12-14, 08:33 PM)noggythenog link Wrote:
yeh or the guy did a massive mr whippy inside it :lol Listen to Darrsi with his...oh I was gonna say tactics.....not content with stealing my weight eh ![]() I think Red is trying to throw me off the scent a bit and fine tune my weight guess and because he has given clues now then technically everyone else who now guesses has now got an easier range to go with the foccers. Re: safe experts - darrsi - 01-12-14 No, i'm going back to my 220kg, that looks heavy! Re: safe experts - YamFazFan - 01-12-14 My final guess is that it contains a briefcase with 2 housebricks inside it.(I love Fawlty Towers :lol).
