Re: Dazzling bicycle lights - Exupnut - 21-11-14 Hold on red..... No one has mentioned lorry drivers overtaking each other..... Bain of my life atm.....there u are happily filtering along and some nob of a lorry driver thinks he'll have his buddy.... So he pulls out and try's to av Im but Noooooo he hasn't got the legs... So after causing a tailback of 10 min worth of traffic in a rush hour he finally decides to pull back in and wave u on with a THANKYOU wave like he was doin somethin reasonable .... Foccin arseholes.... And another thing ... Why is it that drivers do the most stupid of manoeuvres and then wave to u nonchalantly as if what they are doing is justifiable or the norm or even EXPECTED...it's like they expect u to be forgiving even tho the drive like idiots... WHILST THEY KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY R DOING IS STUPID.... Grrrrrrr....good job I'm a nice chap Re: Dazzling bicycle lights - darrsi - 21-11-14 (21-11-14, 10:12 PM)red98 link Wrote: Good read that :thumbup.....think we have covered most of that and more....it will all change when FOCU gets in at no 10 :thumbup On that note, cars that appear from side turnings at about 30mph then slam the brakes on as you're nearing them. That still freaks me out to this day! :eek Re: Dazzling bicycle lights - NorthWestern - 21-11-14 Speaking of side turnings, those who pull out like they are at santa pod then do a steady 25 mph Re: Dazzling bicycle lights - dazza - 21-11-14 And complete knobber's who pull up on your side of the road facing on coming traffic with their headlights on full beam. Re: Dazzling bicycle lights - Exupnut - 22-11-14 Dont u mean the opposite side of the road??? Re: Dazzling bicycle lights - dazza - 22-11-14 No, I mean, they've parked up on your side facing you with headlights still on full or dipped dazzling the fuck out of you, totally oblivious to the hazard they are creating. If I ever park up on the opposite side of the road and I do every time I drop my daughter off, I immediately put my side lights on. Come to think of it, I suppose it is the opposite side for them but to think like that requires empathy, A quality I don't possess. Re: Dazzling bicycle lights - Andy FZS - 22-11-14 How about people who use the wrong lane because it's moving quicker and then try and force their way back into the correct lane once at the front. So far I've got out of my car to explain the error of their ways (my version) to one driver and had another crash into me. Grrrr Re: Dazzling bicycle lights - fazersharp - 22-11-14 No dazza is right they are on your side of the road and so the headlights are full on you -- so they are parked up picking up prostitutes and facing you so their beam that would normally point to the left to the kerb is now pointing from their right -- to the left into your face Re: Dazzling bicycle lights - fazersharp - 22-11-14 (22-11-14, 12:28 AM)Andy FZS link Wrote: How about people who use the wrong lane because it's moving quicker and then try and force their way back into the correct lane once at the front. GrrrrThats what has been happening when I stop and do not enter the keep clear section, they want my lane cause its turning right further on but their left lane is moving better than mine------ no worries as that twat fazersharp has not entered the keep clear section and left a nice gap for thenm to swerve into Re: Dazzling bicycle lights - fazersharp - 22-11-14 (21-11-14, 10:36 PM)Exupnut link Wrote: Hold on red..... They've obviously been told to put their hazards on whilst parked. I totally understand the sentiment but all cars look like they're about to pull out on you'cos you can't see the left indicator. Quote:Highway Code Paragraph 60 Quote: the flashing ones do catch the eye True, but I do recommend the ones that flash very rapidly rather than the ones with a distinct On-Off-On-Off or, even worse, Flash-Flash-Flash-Off pattern because during the "off" phase it's very easy to lose track of the bicycle since your eye is looking for the flashing light, rather than the cycle it's attached to. I've seen people do that in a perfectly legal parking space but when they do it between other vehicles, as you say, you can't tell if it's actually a car about to pull out or just some prat who doesn't know what hazard lights are for (and, here's a hint, putting them on *DOES NOT* let you park anywhere you damn well like!) No excuse for it, oh and 40 in a 60 annoys me too.I have my sun visor down all the time including night time!! because I don't need to look at that bit of sky and especially not at night when its dark!! Re: Dazzling bicycle lights - darrsi - 24-11-14 The worst thing I s'pose about dazzling bike lights is that..........their lights are brighter than mine. :'( :'( Re: Dazzling bicycle lights - griff86 - 24-11-14
I have my sun visor down all the time including night time!! because I don't need to look at that bit of sky and especially not at night when its dark!!
I don't get it, If you had a solid black sticker across your windscreen the same size as the sun blind the cops would probably say it was illegal. Each to their own I suppose.
