Re: For Sale: FZS 1000 with 5554 miles, Reduced - Davieg47 - 22-01-14 I thought th e whole idea of buyin a bike was to get out and ride on it ?? If not, its one bloody expensive ornament to sit and look at !! Doesn't matter what's all been done to it,, it's all cosmetic and done for personal preference !! End of the day , it's only worth the same as any other bike it's age and mileage, regardless, big time and money loss there !! Problem is I have a Harley ornament, a KTM ornament and a Blackbird ornament. Anyone got a large mantlepiece? Re: For Sale: FZS 1000 with 5554 miles, Reduced - mickvp - 22-01-14 Too rich for my blood as well I'm afraid. Very nice bike though and looks well clean. I think I'd be too scared to buy one that clean anyway, wouldn't want to use it for fear of dirtying it all :lol GLWTS ![]() Re: For Sale: FZS 1000 with 5554 miles, Reduced - johnfoxllb - 23-01-14 Some cheaper alternatives for the moaners and sales spoilers out there: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-Yamaha-FZS1000-Fazer-/141161234467?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item20dddd8023 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-FZS-1000-FAZER-2005-22000-MILES-VERY-GOOD-CONDITION-LONG-MOT-AND-TAX-/140932934662?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item20d041ec06 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/yamaha-fzs-1000-fazer-/251421864726?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item3a89e93316 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-FZS1000-FAZER-/111160573925?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item19e1afbfe5 Re: For Sale: FZS 1000 with 5554 miles, Reduced - mickvp - 23-01-14 I wasn't saying yours was too expensive mate, simply that I don't have that sort of money ![]() Those are all quite expensive though? And all from traders? Plenty cheaper ones on the bay ![]() Re: For Sale: FZS 1000 with 5554 miles, Reduced - nick crisp - 23-01-14 I wonder if this one might be a good example to lock away for a good few years and wait for classic status? Age wise, the thous nearly qualify for this anyway, if VJMC are to be believed, but what when they're a bit rarer? Re: For Sale: FZS 1000 with 5554 miles, Reduced - cable tie - 23-01-14 It is a lovely bike, a credit to you for having such an OCD like myself, but you have done the rounds on various forums without look, so is it a bit over priced ! and i feel a stumbling block maybe because of your location ! You would be my ideal seller and I'd love to buy a bike from someone so anal about detail and condition. Re: For Sale: FZS 1000 with 5554 miles, Reduced - johnfoxllb - 24-01-14 I have to concede , I may have priced this wrong, I think a revision is needed urgently :'( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-Yamaha-FZS1000-Fazer-/141173086059?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item20de92576b Re: For Sale: FZS 1000 with 5554 miles, Reduced - Ianboydsnr - 24-01-14 (24-01-14, 09:32 AM)johnfoxllb link Wrote: I have to concede , I may have priced this wrong, I think a revision is needed urgently :'( yes you're right, that is way over priced as well, no one is going to pay that for one, needs to be half that, but that's ebay for you :lol Re: For Sale: FZS 1000 with 5554 miles, Reduced - stevierst - 24-01-14 Preserve it in shrink wrap for 10 years, it'll be one of a kind then and worth twice what you are asking now. Every credit to ya for being so meticulous with the cleaning, but just like women, they're just as much fun dirty! And my signature says it all really. Re: For Sale: FZS 1000 with 5554 miles, Reduced - Lez72 - 25-01-14 Is this bike really overpriced ? I have come to the right place haven't I ? This is the Fazer Forum is it not ? How many threads have there been on this forum over the years about how the Gen 1 is one of the best bikes ever built ? How many threads have there been about people pondering over what to replace their Gen 1 with but never actually finding anything that comes close ? How many threads have there been about people buying this and that part for their bike or doing work to improve it's cosmetic appeal ? The way I see it most people budget around £3000 when looking for a nice Gen1. Yes, they can be had for less than that as we all know but no doubt they will need a bit of money chucking at them to bring them up to par and they would still be nowhere near the condition that this one looks to be in the pictures. I think if you are looking for a Gen 1 to be your all year round commuter then this one could seem a little overpriced as after 12 months it would have been pointless spending that bit extra when things begin to fade and tarnish. However, if it was to be your sunny sunday plaything that you could keep on top of then it could turn out to be a good purchase. It all depends on how you view a bike and what your intended purpose is for it. I agree with some of the comments above about bikes being made to be ridden but that doesn't have to mean ridden to death does it ? Its an owners personal choice whether they do 1000 miles a year or 10,000 isn't it. Besides, if they were only made to be ridden, there would be no such thing as Museums. Some owners get as much pleasure out of looking at and polishing their steeds as they do from riding them. I personally think the price is reasonable given the mileage and condition and the fact it needs absolutely nothing spending on it. How much would you spend on one that needed a set of tyres (£220) chain and sprockets (£120) brake pads all round (£75) etc etc within the first few months of ownership ? If I had £4k lying around I would certainly be considering it and I just want to add that I don't know and have never spoken to the seller. I just thought I would chip in my 10p worth. That's inflation for you... :\ Re: For Sale: FZS 1000 with 5554 miles, Reduced - Mick-H - 25-01-14 It may need nothing spending on it if you want a standard bike but how many Fazer owners leave their bike standard? so that's £4000 plus extras. End can, Ivan's, AIS removed, rear shock that's the best part of £1000. It's a great bike but is it £4000 worth of a great bike?
