Re: Another one bites the dust! - noggythenog - 24-08-13 Ha ha, well i reckon the bike is ok to ride as is, lights or no lights. but my poor wee broken pinkie finger wont fit in a glove, actually i need new gloves too, time to get on the new gloves thread ![]() at least i dont need new leather trousers, since i wasnt wearing them! :o Re: Another one bites the dust! - noggythenog - 24-08-13 (23-08-13, 09:06 PM)nick crisp link Wrote:
So then Noggy, got some ideas?
Well i've stripped the front, ordered a small Motocross style fairing headlight, some bar end mirrors & hopefully soon some trick levers from China. Mr Grump is luckily providing me with a straight fairing bracket which is lovely jubbly. i really want to fit some motocross fork guards & give it a bi tof a supermoto look but i havent got round to looking into that properly yet. so street bike it is Re: Another one bites the dust! - noggythenog - 30-08-13 Mmmmmmm!!!!! Goodies...Gumdrops!!!! 8) Re: Another one bites the dust! - Chris - 30-08-13 Going to look super good with that lot mate!! Chris Re: Another one bites the dust! - noggythenog - 30-08-13 Cheers Chris, havent been this excited since the rad hose days. Its raining now so ill get on it big time tomorrow.ive still got prep & paintwork required on the fairing bracket & i need indicators but ill get a rough idea first before ordering anything. Exciting stuff! ![]() Re: Another one bites the dust! - simonm - 30-08-13 Would you mind giving a running total? It would be handy to know a baseline to street fighter a Razer Tia. Re: Another one bites the dust! - Chris - 30-08-13 Exciting indeed mate, Can't wait to see it finished and you can get out on it again but it's well worth taking your time to get it looking right and not rush it. Especially when prepping the bracket and painting it, it'll be much more on show so best to get it looking spot on. 8) Was going to ask, how good is the colour match between the blue levers and the rad hoses? Don't forget Simon that if you were to fighter it through choice you could probably sell on the original fairing and parts etc to make some money back but a good point, would be good to know how much the outlay for it is. ![]() Chris Re: Another one bites the dust! - noggythenog - 30-08-13 Ye agreed ill need to take my time & as always everything i do is a learning process so takes more time. I think in the end the total will be circa £300 but when ive finished it, remind me & ill count it all up.trouble is youll always find one more detail to add so its knowing when to stop really. Ive gone with the blue to try tie in the blue rad hoses a bit but it's easy to be too Blue so ive had to go easy with how much blue bits i get, i hope ive struck the balance without being ott, the levers are a bit deeper blue id say chris. Im quite pleased though, it's my design & it should look reasonably unique albeit the parts are off the shelf. Re: Another one bites the dust! - Chris - 30-08-13 I think it'll look ace mate! I've always loved the fighter look, apart from the stupid rear subframes people point to the sky (my opinion only you understand), and the bits you've got look great. Ye, trying to mod mine without too much blue is where I'm trying to find the balance. been looking at some rim tape and the levers but think if I do the levers it's be too much... have to wait and see. Chris Re: Another one bites the dust! - noggythenog - 30-08-13 Old handlbars Benter than a big box o bent things in a gay bar!!!! :\ Re: Another one bites the dust! - noggythenog - 30-08-13 & my lovely new Renthals get prepped for switch gear. Firstly some double sided sticky tape....& bare with me on this next one....some tin foil!!!,it makes sense in my head & del boys garage mentioned tin foil but didnt show how so this is my interpretation.i reckon the foil gives a bit of bite on the switch gear, when they puncture the foil they then stick on the tape so any twisting force has a double whammy of resistance.should do the trick i reckon 8) Re: Another one bites the dust! - slimwilly - 30-08-13 Wife looks a bit rough Re: Another one bites the dust! - noggythenog - 30-08-13 (30-08-13, 09:34 PM)slimwilly link Wrote:Wife looks a bit rough Shes dog rough ![]() Re: Another one bites the dust! - nick crisp - 30-08-13 Bill, you are a bad, bad man! :lol Re: Another one bites the dust! - slimwilly - 30-08-13 (30-08-13, 09:44 PM)nick crisp link Wrote:Bill, you are a bad, bad man! :lol Blame my Humour Tourettes Re: Another one bites the dust! - Chris - 30-08-13 :lol |
