Quote:Anybody clever know if any compatible long levers are available to swap in? Btw I asked the seller regarding long levers and they didn't have them, nobody does for the Fazer as far as I'm aware
Yep, I bought these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/CNC-Adjustable-Long-Straight-Brake-Clutch-Levers-For-YAMAHA-FZ6-Fazer-1997-2003-/300703156216?ssPageName=ADME:L:OU:GB:3160
They're great

Just realised that's the same seller I bought from who told me they didn't have long versions. Maybe they didn't at the time but it was only a couple of weeks ago. Bugger

Thanks for the link though

Fuzzy - How come you don't like them? Are they harder to pull the clutch in? I might be interested in buying them, where you from?

Sorry, Deadeye's already been in touch about them but if he doesn't want them I'll let you know first.
No, it's far better in terms of reach than standard. It brings the lever closer to the bar and it's easier to pull in, but I feel I have better control with 4 fingers which is handy in traffic and there's a lot of it where I am in London. You should see my clutch side bar grip, seriously worn! Same story with braking,  2 fingers most of the time but in a emergency stop situation I use 4 fingers, more control and no risk of trapped fingers.

Funny isn't it because I was 2 finger braking and clutching I had to swap to shorties because of trapping the 2 fingers on the grip with long levers, plus I feel the opposite and that I have far greater control of the bike with shorties.
It's all a personal thing, if you're not used to 2 fingers (oo er) then shorties take a bit of getting used to.

I usually use 2 fingers for braking as fazer brakes are good, then 4 for the clutch so that will take getting used to.

On my recent off i had to brake hard, but i locked up, either that or hit the car but ive got a feeling i grabbed the brake with all 4 fingers so cant help thinking that the shortys will reduce the likelyhood of me doing this again.

Sorry to hear you dont got on with them Fuzzy, a bit of a pisser after the hassle of getting them, but if you dont try you dont find out.

Re: Anyone fitted CNC shorty levers to their fzs600? - Dead Eye - 29-08-13

I've been constantly thinking do I get them, do I leave it ever since this topic started

They issues surrounding TNT just put me off for now, but with Fuzzy selling his set I can't really let them go ^^

I've begun to use 2 finger braking pretty much all the time now as I am blipping the throttle on downshifts and do occasionally find the stock levers too long. Plus the clutch one got bent during the crash Tongue

Re: Anyone fitted CNC shorty levers to their fzs600? - Fuzzy - 29-08-13

That was the same for me, it was more like 3 fingers on the lever with the last one dangling off the ball end.
I can see why people like to use just 2 fingers, I too tend to use 2 fingers on the open road and there are times when I don't use 4  fingers at all, like trackdays. But I did an emergency braking exercise as part of a course last year and that made me realise that in an emergency I'm probably better off using 4 fingers for braking. As for the clutch, I guess that's even more about personal choice.
And its not even a choice between 2 or 4 fingers, there are many riders that use 3 and I recall something about a Japanese racer who uses his thumb as well as his fingers!

Re: Anyone fitted CNC shorty levers to their fzs600? - noggythenog - 29-08-13

My Blue levers just arrived today.

I ordered bar end mirrors from the uk on the same day as i ordered the levers from China.....they both arrived the same day so big up to china levers inc thats fast delivery.

The levers are really good quality & the adjustors have a good clunky feel to them when adjusting unlike the loose & wobbly action i expected.

Also marked as $20 Wink

The TNT 'invoice' doesn't arrive with the goods. They tend to send it on a week or so later. Keep the wrapper that came with the goods as proof of the declared value.
Then if they do send an invoice send them an email as per my example above.
Don't let the bastards get away with it. Happy to provide further advice if required  Wink

No worries Fuzzy. Might order some soon.

Instead of asking the seller to mark it as gift or a value under £15 why not just ask them to mark it
