Re: DIY luggagae rack - stevierst - 26-02-13 Just finished doing my fz1 rack this afternoon. I made it so its removable for those days when you just want to ride. ![]() At the moment it just slides out, but there will be two location bolts fitted to secure it in place. ![]() Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2 Re: DIY luggagae rack - kennys@lothianms.co.uk - 18-03-13 hi i have just joined the foc and live in Galashiels, Scottish Borders. this sight was recommended to me as i am looking for a bike rack for my 1998 FZS 600 in black. many thanks kenny Re: DIY luggagae rack - stevierst - 18-03-13 Hi Kenny, get yourself on the intro page and say hello to the rest of the madhouse. I'm making a rack for SimonM next week, so there would be a bit of a delay making one for you as time off work is getting a bit scarce atm. I'm doing the racks for £40 posted of its painted. If you can get it powder coated, the finish would last a lot longer and it would be £35 from me. Ill give you a shout when I can get time off if you like. I won't be making any of these for anyone as it took me a considerable amount of hours to make, and it wouldn't be cost effective to buy. But here's my finished article. ![]() Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2 Re: DIY luggagae rack - stevierst - 21-03-13 As its modular, undo two bolts and your left with just the rails. ![]() Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2 Re: DIY luggagae rack - stevierst - 21-03-13 I can put more photos on if anyone's interested in making one for themselves. Material costs were about £20-£25 without paint, but it takes quite a while to make the rear suppporting bracket under the seat. Click that then click on 'introduction' which is top of the list. Open a new topic, introduce yourself to everyone then wait for the circus to start. ![]() Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2 Re: DIY luggagae rack - kennys@lothianms.co.uk - 21-03-13 hi stevie I think I have done it correctly, time will tell lol :lol Re: DIY luggagae rack - robin78842 - 17-09-14 My Givi rack from my 03 foxeye fits my 99 boxeye... Re: DIY luggagae rack - johnakay - 22-02-15 just notice this thread. incase anyone want to know the early Fazer's inc 02 and 03 models share the same rear ends.oops it seem that they dont according renntec. seems rather strange considering the expense of altering the jigs when only the cosmetics were changed inc lights. I have thought about making them before but I couldn't do it cheap enough for you guys certainly not for 40 quid. Re: DIY luggagae rack - Andy FZS - 23-02-15 I believe that the rear foot rests are in a slightly different place. The Fox eye ones are slightly lower iirc. |
