The media and polls got it totally wrong about the size of support for sleepy Jo. If you listened to the MSM fake news you would of thought o'l sleepy would of totally destroyed trump. Re: Down the pub - the thread about nothing and everything - VNA - 04-11-20 Quote:For the ceiling, get yourself a roller and extending handle. I did my girlfriend's room with one of those and it was dead easy! Yup got a 12” inch roller frame, 12" rollers, and telescopic extender. But it won’t do the coving. Quote:For brushes, try Wilkos, ive found them good to use, and not expensive Don't see anything there. Happy with the Harris brushes I get from Screwfix, but just can't find an old fashioned 3 or 4 inch brush that really holds big dollops of paint. Quote:Paints have changed too over the years. Most are now water based, dry too quickly, and despite claims regarding coverage, require two and sometines three coats to cover and leave a good even finish. You can still get solvent wood paints. Though they need two coats (plus undercoat if fresh wood) and 16hrs between coats, but the finish is lovely. Re: Down the pub - the thread about nothing and everything - VNA - 04-11-20 I was right about Trump. He has declared victory and called for the supreme court to stop the count. He is a potential dictator. In doing so he legitimatises Lukashenko, Putin, Xi, Kim Jong-un and so forth. As for polls, they rely on what people tell them. Re: Down the pub - the thread about nothing and everything - mtread - 04-11-20 It's not over until the last vote is counted... Re: Down the pub - the thread about nothing and everything - mtread - 04-11-20 If 'Sleepy' Joe does win, and Racist, Misogynistic, Pussy Grabbing, Covid Spreading, Tax Avoiding, Bankrupt Donald refuses to concede, and goes to court, I confidentally predict there will be blood on both sides of the street. Re: Down the pub - the thread about nothing and everything - robbo - 04-11-20 On the paint brush subject in my experience, Purdys are the best by far. Expensive, yes, but if you look after them properly they'll give years of service. I've got some that must be 15 years old now, but have always used a brush comb when cleaning them, to keep them in tip top condition.. They'll be pressed into service yet again this weekend. Trump is getting into a right old state :lol Re: Down the pub - the thread about nothing and everything - VNA - 04-11-20 Last night Trump was talking about how difficult it was for him to deal with loosing. He sounded as if he was accepting defeat. Then a few hours later he declares victory and states that he wants to stop the counting, he wanted to deny Americans their right to vote. Anyway this could take a few days. Re: Down the pub - the thread about nothing and everything - YamFazFan - 04-11-20 . Re: Down the pub - the thread about nothing and everything - YamFazFan - 05-11-20 . Re: Down the pub - the thread about nothing and everything - VNA - 05-11-20 Quote:It's a funny old world you know. When it came to Brexit the Remainers said it was too close a result and wanted another go, but they're more than happy now to see Biden limp over the line about a week after the vote .Donald has been, well Trumped. It is not the total wipe out the Democrats wanted, but it is a solid result. It is over for Trump. Currently we are at Biden - 264 Trump - 214 Biden - 52% Trump - 44% Normally at this point the President would come out on the steps of the White House an acknowledge the will of the people, congratulate the oppenent and pledge to ensure a smooth transition of power. And of course the counting would continue and absolute final result would be declared a few days later. But there is nothing normal about Trump. Trump is a loser in every sense of the word. Brexit? Well the USA has had their Trump moment and come back from it. It is where they go from here. Biden is the very kind of person that America was rebelling against when it voted Trump. However, the vice president might be the one really running the show, and that could mean some real change. In the UK, we can't come back from our Trump moment - BREXIT. And the USA will now look to Europe for a 'speacil relationship', the UK is much diminished. And maybe in a UK sense we are going to be denied any real choice by Keir Starmer, who looks more like Tony Blair every day, and shows no interest whatsoever in uniting the UK Labour Party. Boris will hobble along until the pandemic appears to be over, then he'll be butchered by the Tory party whom will reinvent themselves ready to destroy a divided light blue Labour Party that has nothing to offer the people as an alternative. |
