Just put some heated grips on the Thundercat in prep for the rapidly approaching bad weather. Toasty digits Tongue

Also ordered a touring reservoir for the scottoiler. This bikes a keeper methinks.

Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - stevierst - 08-09-14

Fitted a Scottoiler touring to the Thundercat, fitted a basic Scottoiler to the R1, replaced the choke cable for a longer Fazer one, stripped the exup valve and straightened it as it was sticking!
Just got the forks to rebuild now

I went to Oulton Park on the XJ600. Spent all day there at the Hottrax meeting.

A nice ride in beautiful weather to Beaumaris and back. Stopped in Bangor to take photo. 156 miles in all.

Embarked upon the epic quest to complete the maintenance and work required on my car... new gearbox, exhaust, timing belts and possible clutch

Tonight's saga involved getting the car up in the air and removing the battery, front wheels, clutch slave cylinder, gear selector mechanisms and driveshafts.

Unlikely to have made it to my house in that , but I could have handled the 48 cups of tea/coffee. :lol

You will have to return on the Fazer Smile

Got out and spent the afternoon continuing to work on the car.

Gearbox is finally removed though the bastard was a pain in the ass to split from the engine - looks like a little bit of light corrosion on the locating dowels so nothing major. Then proceeded to begin unbolting various ancillaries as I follow the Haynes book of lies in prepping the engine for removal.

All in all a good days work, more work to be done over the coming weeks Smile

Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - unfazed - 02-10-14

Replaced the front discs and pads on the Mazda 6. Spent 2 hours trying to remove the 4 disc retaining countersunk screws :eek . Stubborn little foccers were rusted in place. Thank goodness for left hand drill bits. :thumbup Replaced them with stainless screws and some copper greased them.

Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - Anquetil - 03-10-14

Cleaned the XJ600 and then applied ACF50, in readiness for the first spreading of salt on the local roads. It won't be long.

Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got? - stevierst - 03-10-14

Cleaned the Thundercat, and polished it. Not washed it in months, and it took me hours to get her shiny again!

Also fitted flush led indicators to the front, and plate mount led indicators to the rear of the R1. Much neater, just got to get an led relay to slow the flash down now.
