Brushed down and re painted my down pipes, mainly the collector box area but while me brush was wet - as you do.
I actually did it a couple of days ago and the first picture was tonight they look wet but they are not, the second pic is after I got back from a 40 mile spin. The paint needs the heat to fully cure to a mat finnish, its granvile engine black, if you are interested

Why does it look like you have bolts in your downpipes?

Because there are! Something to do with gas flow measuring?

I've only even had Fazers with stainless pipes, first time I noticed it. Is that on all stock downpipes then?

its granvile cylinder black,  I did say engine but got it wrong here http://www.granvilleoil.com/product_info.php?prod_id=252

Also to add - it comes in small tins but is quite thin and gos a long way, even though its thin it covers well, you could amost paint glass with it, and its hard to see the brush strokes after, I recon you could do your exhaust 3 or 4 times over from 1 small tin

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - fazersharp - 08-04-15

Mine are stock OEM and it could just be a "98" thing like many other little quirks only the 98 has

Looks good, think I'll be searching this out and giving them a wee coat or two, but as you say, maybe get even more done, certainly it'll tidy up the downpipes

Fixed the replacement alarm I got ages ago (turned out it was just a loose wire on the speaker) and fitted it to the bike, so if any scrotes try to unbolt the tank again they'll have the alarm screaming at them Smile

Fitted my cheapo Chinese handguards last night, and tested them out this morning in chilly conditions with summer gloves.

Worked brilliantly I'm keeping the wind off, and stopping the wind chill on my digits. It's an autumn/spring must if you commute!

Not the prettiest, but they work!

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - fazersharp - 09-04-15

Would they still fit I wonder with full size leavers

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - NorthWestern - 09-04-15

Tidying the garage I found the bag of broken headlights that came with my bike.  As I sifted the remains for bulbs and useful clips etc I noticed amongst the jigsaw pieces was enough to put the two fairing infills together!  Two hours, a solder iron and some number filler and they are ready to use!!

Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - red98 - 09-04-15

Finally got my 6 sorted, didnt want to start, turning over but not sparking and no ticking from the fuel pump, gave the ignition switch a good soaking with wd40 and then blasted it with compressed air.....brum, brum  :thumbup
