I've known of owners doing just as you did and distorted the filler neck, so as it no longer seals properly when the cap is closed. They actually don't even notice, until they start smelling fuel in their garages on hot days and can't work out where it's coming from, or depending how much they've distorted things, they lose fuel over time when the bike is stored. As with all bodging you could well get away with it, choice is yours. |
