Re: tyre changing machine - midden - 12-04-19

A friend bought me one of these for my first tyre change I had already used the jump on a plank of wood technique which worked ok but as I had to remove the new tyre this kit seemed a welcome addition (I hadn't seen the full machines at this point).  It isn't quite small enough to accept the 600's rear wheel (is the thou bigger?)  and unfortunately is only a bead breaker though I wonder if it could be turned/upcycled

Good vid that MIDs , cant help thinking that tyres heavily worn and extremely flexable , ive never been able to break the beading as easily as he has , a well praticed vid I expect , I made my own bead breaker and screwed it to the wall in the garage , works well but no centre pin to act as a spindle so lots of suffling and turning to get the tyre off , good vid that and its given me a few ideas for my mk11    Wink

I'll be changing mine soon so I'll see if I can do a video of it.

The  length of wood and bounce was easy enough to break the bead but wouldn't do it on tyre I wanted  to reuse.
The breaker I now have (noticed I didn't link it in previous post) is same as in the video  but he has obviously improved the plate which contacts with the tyre  as mine does offer the fear of cutting the rubber, probably wouldn't but does seem dodgy

Finally got around to doing a video the other day, not professional but it does show how easy it is to use.
