Re: front discs for 2003 foxeye - Skippernick - 27-06-16 G1054 sounds right, they are dusty compared to original manufacturers ones, but brake way better. Re: front discs for 2003 foxeye - Wookee - 30-06-16 Just ordered some Galfers for front and rear as mine all need replacing. I have EBC's sintered on at the minute and they're seizing to the front discs when wet :eek Re: front discs for 2003 foxeye - mobile mouse - 01-07-16 Fitted the replacement discs from Gheeks and new Bendix sintered pads. bike passed MOT great.... But I have noticed at low speeds a squeal from the front brakes when the brakes are applied lightly. Release brake squeal goes away. Being a little paranoid as i think its a metal on metal squeal. Am I being paranoid there will be little or no brake dust but I cannot stop thinking I am wearing out the discs. I want to completely dismantle each caliper and clean the pistons and seals and re assemble. I have even bought a set of Galfer 1054 in case the Bendix pads are being too aggressive. any thoughts.... Re: front discs for 2003 foxeye - unfazed - 01-07-16 Did you use high temperature copper grease on the back of the pads prior to fitting? this helps prevent it However it ins not to uncommon for sintered pads to make the noise you describe when the are bedding in and occasionally after bedding. Re: front discs for 2003 foxeye - mobile mouse - 02-07-16 yes I used copper grease on back of pads. Sintered on the front are absolutely fine. They will however chew the feck out of a rear disc far easier than the front so bear that in mind, and avoid in the future. |
