Re: A new beginning - Billy Balthorpe - 28-01-16 LOL. Thats what I was going to say! My mate is moving there (Mayenne area) in the next couple of months. His house outbuildings and land cost him £18K, he has spent another £10K on it (couldn't do the work himself) to make it nice. The only other place I can think of that is as cheap, is round the area I have my house, about 40KM north east of Magny Cours circuit. Theres more Brits up near Mayenne, theres virtually none near my place. Personally I would go for the Mayenne area, some real bargains up there. Re: A new beginning - BBROWN1664 - 28-01-16 If you want Brits, find somewhere near Gorron in Mayenne. Its full of them! I must admit I didn't realise there were so many Brits in the area till AFTER I signed on the dotted line. Where my place is, I would say 5 out of the closest 6 houses are all owned by Brits. That said, apart from 1 house, the others are over 1/2 a mile away. Lots of land around there and cheap property as the French don't do DIY and want shiny new houses. Re: A new beginning - Billy Balthorpe - 28-01-16 Well Bbrown, you've got another one coming over, keep your eyes peeled for a guy who looks like Ron Pearlman riding a hardtail GS850 chop thing with big apes on it, around the Gorron area. Re: A new beginning - Billy Balthorpe - 28-01-16 A 5 minute search found this. http://www.gorronimmobilier.com/en/for-sale/980/pretty-stone-house-with-a-gite?return=%2Fen%2Fproperties%3FProperty%255Bref%255D%3D%26Property%255Bbedrooms%255D%3D0%26Property%255Blocation%255D%3D%26Property%255Bdep%255D%3D0%26Property%255Bsurface%255D%3D%26Property%255Bkeywords%255D%3D%26Property%255BminPrice%255D%3D20000%26Property%255BmaxPrice%255D%3D50000%26yt0%3DSearch%26Property_sort%3Dprice%26Property_page%3D4 About £38K before putting in a cheeky offer for cash. Re: A new beginning - joebloggs - 29-01-16 Hmmmmm lets see, trip of a life time, memories most could only dream of or a small run down semi in a country who's population speak the most awful language ever invented, smell of onions and think the consumption of frogs legs is fine dining. Foc the French, buy the bike, you know it makes sense Re: A new beginning - BBROWN1664 - 29-01-16 Or this one with 2.5 acres of land for about £35K as advertised. Probably get it for £under £30K with a cheeky offer. Cash deals make little difference in France though as the legal process takes about 3 months to complete. http://www.green-acres.com/en/properties/32292a-2924.htm Re: A new beginning - fireblake - 30-01-16 (29-01-16, 10:54 AM)BBROWN1664 link Wrote: Or this one with 2.5 acres of land for about £35K as advertised. I'm a way off from knowing what is happening in my life but some interesting thoughts. Thanks, Mickey Re: A new beginning - maddog04 - 30-01-16 Mickey, if it was me then I'd be looking at my circumstances......then deciding try and make a go of your marriage.....do you have kids (do not answer me on here, you just think about what you have or do not have that will impinge on your end decision) when I was young, I was going to do Camp America plus lots of other things but never got around to it......personally not too arsed about it now as I have a wife, son and house and wouldn't swap that. I only have one small regret in life and that's that I never went back and passed the para's but life took me down the route of martial arts which made me the man I am today................ so only a small regret as I say If you're free as a bird if you get divorced then go for the trip, it will be a once in a lifetime event and once you get married or have kids then this type of thing becomes harder to do. You may meet another girl and settle down later so a combined income may well get you back on the property ladder over here if that's what you want. Not sure what bike to do it on but go for it if the opportunity is right and good luck with your life either way Re: A new beginning - tommyardin - 01-02-16 (27-01-16, 12:05 PM)Exupnut link Wrote: Get ur self a young girlfriend or start wankin...that'll get u fit u old fart :-) What do you mean start? Re: A new beginning - BBROWN1664 - 01-02-16 It varies from village to village. My TF was about €300 and TH was about €400 from memory. That's with a (currently) 70m2 house and about 200m2 of other storage areas on a 3300m2 plot. |
