Re: Clarkson - Deefer666 - 12-03-15

I stopped watching a while back, its the same jokes every week. Its gotten stale and not only should Clarkson go but the simpering, langly, limp wristed, tosspot & the giggling, imbecile midget should go as well.

Have a complete new start.... I know most of the time Clarkson and co are playing characters but its gotten old.

Re: Clarkson - bigralphie - 12-03-15

JC is not liked by the new BBC controller and so is being massaged out of the business

Is the standard way big firms lose the faces that don't fit , set absolutes they cant or wont adhere to then pot them for "contriving policy"

Re: Clarkson - HarryHornby - 12-03-15

That rainbow is the funniest thing I've seen in ages, some classic lines "what's your name" "Bond, Unibond, coz I want to fill your crack!"  priceless.

Re: Clarkson - YamFazFan - 15-03-15

Hmm..I do like The Red Arrows, fantastic to watch at air-shows, but no substitute for a new episode of Top Gear :'(. I hardly watch any tele & apart from the superbikes, BBC2 8p.m Sunday is the highlight of my viewing week :rolleyes.

Re: Clarkson - R1FSR - 15-03-15

Sack he twunt

Re: Clarkson - BBROWN1664 - 16-03-15

As they have been saying Simon Reeves Caribbean program was going to be on replacing the rest of Top Gear series and was substituted yesterday for the Red Arrows program, I suspect TG will be back next week.

Re: Clarkson - simonm - 16-03-15

I find it interesting and enlightening that it was Clarkson himself that reported the incident that got him suspended.  Highly coincidental when you consider the contract renewal and the fact that if he leaves before September it could be expensive.

Follow that up with the fact that he could be nearing retirement age, doesn't like the BBC much, could walk over to Sky or ITV and make better money then it smacks of him wrecking Top gear before jumping ship.  Considering he sold it for £8,000,000.00 + it would be a sweet revenge to make the Intellectual Property worthless.

It's nice to see the mindless masses put together a petition to keep him when he is probably the one that would come out of it financially better off.

I don't like him much.

Re: Clarkson - nick crisp - 16-03-15

Cars don't interest me. Clarkson doesn't really interest me much...until he made that remark about stringing a wire across a road to decapitate motorcyclists. If I was another kind of person, he might get a visit for that one.

I am of the same opinion and that's why I couldn't give a flying fuck if the self opinionated cunt is sacked. I would prefer it if he was so I wouldn't have to look at his ugly smug face ever again.
He clearly doesn't like motorcyclists. In fact he only likes himself. What a tosser. [Image: Knobhead_zps253c7cc5.gif]

Rant over.

Re: Clarkson - Millietant - 16-03-15

Unfortunately I think too many people believe the "Clarkson" TV persona is the actual person.

I'm not a fan at all - and think TG would be much better without all the childish crap that Clarkson has built its popularity on.

BUT, when he tested the Jag S Type diesel at the Ring, we were there and spent some time talking to JC between his runs and messing with him when he was out on track in the car in a couple of open public sessions. To be honest, he was just like any other normal bloke, actually seemed a little bit at a loss between runs, as there weren't many people there who knew him and when the crew weren't around he just sat there by himself, having a cig - so we had a bit of chat with him.

Overall, he didn't come across as a twat and cracked some jokes about bikes, despite admitting that he didn't hate them as it comes across on the show.

That day changed my opinion of him - seeing him away from the camera's.

Whatever happens, I hope Top Gear survives - but not in the slightest bit bothered about whether JC stays with it or not.

Mike Tyson punched loads of people whilst at work, millions could confirm that happened, he never got the sack.

However, for a bit of balance, I got a temp job on the Gravesend Reporter in 1990  as my mum worked there. The caretaker decided to be an arse about me parking my FZR600 out back. Things got a little heated and I punched him, I got the the sack.

Thing is, I got paid a months wages for going quietly, the job was boring me shitless and I was planning on jacking anyway so that was a bonus. Plus the caretaker was a total prick and I had wanted an excuse to punch him from day 1 so that was another bonus.

Non, je ne regrette rien as Edith Piaf might say.  :rollin

Re: Clarkson - Dead Eye - 17-03-15

I don't have a problem with Clarkson, everyone seems to get so upset about stupid comments. I'm not saying I agree with them, but at the end of the day everyone tends to say something exaggerated and out of context to the point of offence (point and case what I just typed - I'm bound to have upset someone). I can't fathom a country where everyone walks on egg shells about any comment in case they offend

He's definitely made mistakes though and as much as I would like to continue to see him on TV, I didn't sign any petition as his actions do require the investigation and potentially dismissal. Top Gear will never be the same, probably for the worse imo, but all good things come to an end.

Re: Clarkson - nick crisp - 17-03-15

Generally, he never bothered me. Sometimes he can be quite funny, in the Grumpy Old Git style, which appeals to me for obvious reasons. But it's just that one remark. It has been done before he made it, and it has been done since. I'm not saying the incident since he said it provoked someone to go and do it, but who knows? I just think if you have a wide public audience, you need to show some restraint.

And @ Millietant, of course he said he doesn't really hate bikes when face to face with folks he doesn't know. Easy to back-track on remarks, but he made it, and so that's how he gets taken. If he wanted to retract that publicly, maybe I'd forgive him, but really I don't much care. If I saw him, I'd ignore him. Off the radar other than that one thoughtless thing. I'm a long-time motorcyclist, so of course I think he's a twat. And I daresay he wouldn't care that I think that. So not getting out of proportion here, just what I think.

Re: Clarkson - bigbluebear - 25-03-15

SACKED

Re: Clarkson - Chris - 25-03-15

He deserved it. He assaulted someone both verbally and physically. If any of us did that at work we'd be sacked.

I'll miss top gear, if it stops, in some ways. However the last few years then there have been more cringe moments than funny ones and the facts and interesting parts about new cars have been few and far between. Maybe it's the change Top Gear needs to become relevant again and hopefully that will include more bikes!

Chris

Re: Clarkson - noggythenog - 25-03-15

one feature I liked recently was the bit about Peugeot drivers.....that really summed up Peugeots to me I was in stitches..a rare bit of something actually funny I thought.

Re: Clarkson - bigralphie - 25-03-15

You cant punch subordinates now ?  :rolleyes :rolleyes  health and safety gone mad  :lol

Re: Clarkson - AndyL - 25-03-15

They've had some really good sections but I think they've had the balance off for some time. I hope this is a chance to fix it. It doesn't seem like much of a punishment for JC if he just switches to another broadcaster for more money.

Re: Clarkson - esetest - 25-03-15

Jake Humphries would be a good replacement and he likes bikes .
