Re: Got my first ever puncture :( - Punkstig - 20-09-14 Gloops never worked for me, tried it several times, waste of money imo Re: Got my first ever puncture :( - MC680x0 - 20-09-14 Never heard of it.. Thought the references to gloop/slime were adjectives not proper nouns and didn't even search for them. Ah well. Can't see how they would work other than the tiniest of pinprick holes tho Re: Got my first ever puncture :( - stevierst - 20-09-14 Tyre changers hate that stuff as it makes a right mess of their kit when changing your rubber. Just make sure you tell them it's in there! Not heard many reports on whether it's any good or not though. Just make sure you tell them it's in there! Over the years i've probably used it in 3 of my tyres, as i said above if your tyre's past half way, but still has plenty of mileage left and you have an irritating slow leak, then it's very useful gear. My bike is mainly used for commuting as well so it makes even more sense to use it if needs be. I'd imagine it could really get you out of shit if you were touring and in the middle of nowhere as well. I wouldn't use it all the time though as i have an RAC card, and if a tyre has a chance of being internally mushroom plugged then that's the way to go. Re: Got my first ever puncture :( - fazersharp - 20-09-14 Maybe after a while it looses its ability to flow into the holes, havent looked at the vid but I spose they put it in and ride straight over the nails. Re: Got my first ever puncture :( - MC680x0 - 20-09-14 I have one of these in the storage on the bike. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300ml-Bike-Motorcycle-Bicycle-Instant-Temporary-Puncture-Tyre-Repair-Fix-Sealant-/131279889921?pt=UK_SportsLeisure_Cycling_BikeLocks_SR&hash=item1e90e42601 Never had to use it, don't know what it would come out like after being used and whether the shop guy would get pissed off if I had used it and took it to him for a tyre replacement. Re: Got my first ever puncture :( - unfazed - 20-09-14 I use these mini mushrooms and have one in the rear tyre of the Fazer 1000. :thumbup http://www.morrisonbhp.net/apps/webstore/products/show/3681925 It survived a very very hi speed trip back from the UGP with Mark. ![]() I have two packs of them one under the seat of the 600 and one under the seat of the 1000 all the time. Had to use 2 in total. Put a bit of spit on them before using as it helps them to go in easier ![]() |
