Re: Loud pipes save lives!! - VNA - 15-05-14 I can see the attraction. Did you change the bars? Like the slightly dodgy number plate, does blend in nicely. Other bike I've had on my mind is an early to mid 90's Speed Triple. I'm in no hurry though, might buy something this year, or it might be next. Re: Loud pipes save lives!! - ChristoT - 15-05-14 So that wasn't an earthquake I felt earlier - it was Ogri starting up!! :lol :lol Re: Loud pipes save lives!! - ogri48 - 16-05-14 (15-05-14, 09:26 PM)VNA link Wrote: I can see the attraction. Is it actually an 04 bike? Re: Loud pipes save lives!! - adeejaysdelight - 16-05-14 Nice one Ogri. The bike sounds good mate. I loved the wee rear wheel skid too :thumbup , although you could have got a wheelie in imo... I always do that when exiting my driveway, after blasting right through the shut garage door. :lol Re: Loud pipes save lives!! - VNA - 16-05-14 Quote:Yup bars are one inch harley items mate, triumph do switchgear in that size too so that's handy...them early speed triples are gorgeous, heavy but a lovely looking bike Yeah the bars set it off nicely. I think out of the crate they all look a bit, well, odd. But a few mods and they really start to look like good old proper British bikes. I borrowed an early Daytona for the day from a bike shop years and years ago. I loved it but it was to big and heavy for me then as an everyday bike. Dealer was a bit peeved when I handed it back 200 miles later and said naw. He then threw the keys at me for the old 900 sprint, it was closing time on Saturday, he said bring it back Monday evening, but I declined. A rare thing that was a dealer that sold bikes by actually letting people try em out! Bought a 94 18mnth old CBR600F instead. Those old speed triples are all so wrong, but somehow they just look so right. And I still remember the big grin I wore all day on the Daytona which is pretty much the same thing. Re: Loud pipes save lives!! - nick crisp - 16-05-14 Ogri, you just look so right on that thing - can't now picture you in "proper" gear ( :rolleyes) on an FZ1. Been out on mine in jeans and trainers today :eek just feels so much more natural to me as that's how I always used to ride. Can't wear all the protection as summer comes around - way too hot for me, plus, old dogs/new tricks an all that. Re: Loud pipes save lives!! - Andy FZS - 16-05-14 It looks the the dogs. Hmmm I wonder whats on ebay......... It's funny how your biking life can go full circle as you get older, you end up riding summat that gives you the same feeling you had when you started messing about on field bikes over the old airfield..if I could only have one, it would be that trumpet, I just don't do the miles or big runs that I used to. As cool as it may have looked spinning up outta the drive and through the paddock, I'm glad none of you saw me coming back, with a carrier bag with two big cartons of craven dales finest hanging off me bars... ![]() |
