Re: What made you choose a FAZER? - adeejaysdelight - 23-04-14 I had a CBR 600 and ended up getting surgery which left me with 42 staples down my front and a massive scar from my chest to my pubic bone. The lean over the bars was AGONY, so I sold it and bought something a bit more upright till I healed. Almost 3 years later I have not even considered selling the Fazer, even though I'm fit as a fiddle. Don't think I will ever get rid of him. I love it. I have added to the collection mind :lol Re: What made you choose a FAZER? - stevierst - 23-04-14 (23-04-14, 01:14 PM)Mattsplat link Wrote: I would buy an R1 and put Renthals on, should have done that in the first place... :rolleyesI keep getting tempted to do it again, best bike I've ever had my fightered R1 Re: What made you choose a FAZER? - Kosmic Kartman - 24-04-14 I first saw the Fazer in the flesh at the motorcycle show when it was first out and my jaw dropped. FUCKIN AWESOME! :eek I cued up to sit on it and once there I was on it for about 20 minutes. My mates all jeering at me to let someone else have a sit on it. I thought, one day I WILL have one. In 2004 I decided needed another bike to keep my XJR 1200 company so before my expectant wife spent all my hard earned cash on nappies and baby stuff I went out, test rode one, and then bought one. The test ride was for an hour so I blasted it from Clapham to near enough Maidstone and back. Yep... one of them al do me :lol Mine has been modded a bit, but fuck me it's still a mental bike for the everyday man. ![]() Re: What made you choose a FAZER? - bigbluebear - 24-04-14 I had an old Yamaha Virago 535 which I was offered to swap for FZS600.....took a test ride and couldn't believe the power, torque and handling......so being a big heavy foccer I then decided to try the FZS1000.....and the rest is history Re: What made you choose a FAZER? - AndyL - 24-04-14 I had been planning on buying a CB500s from a mate but passed my test on a 650 bandit. In hindsight I think I should have bought the 2002 model that had been lowered instead of the 2001 bike I got. Years ago I sat on a mates Fazer and it bike with a weight I could manage and 95bhp seemed plenty when you're on a SR125 After passing the test it was a bike I could get on (struggled with a SV650) and was lighter then the bandit. I don't think they look bad with a bit of luggage on them and it's reasonably comfy. Re: What made you choose a FAZER? - Robbie8666 - 24-04-14 after a break from biking for about 12 years my divorce came through & I had a small amount of cash that i decided to get back into biking with... bout £4k I had started to commute from Portsmouth to Cornwall at weekends but as not riden for long time was looking at a Deauville!! a friend of a friend's dad was selling his 2002 600. i was told it was a good clean bike and would suit me to a T for £1550, I offered £1400 he countered with £1500 plus MOT & new front tyre, SOLD, transferred money to his account then caught train up to Orpington and rode it back to Portsmouth!! remember I'd not seen the bike or even sat on 1 for 12 years!! :rollin :rollin it is the perfect bike .. for me! plus biking faternity at work when i mentioned deauville were very disparaging but couldn't agree what to recommend, when I turned up on Fazer all said Perfect I had one of those,, and all wanted to test ride it!!! Re: What made you choose a FAZER? - MEM62 - 24-04-14 After many years of riding (I started in 1978!) and various bikes I had an 1150GS - which I really didn't' get on with. So I sold that and wanted something for 'traditional' as in upright seating position and an inline four engine. The two most popular choices at the time were the Fazer 1000 and the Bandit 12. The Bandit was worthy but the Fazer was better in every possible way. It was more powerful, better handling and had the edge on looks too. It was also coming out on top in a lot of group tests in the press at the time and was Bike Magazine's bike of the year. A brief test ride was all the convincing I needed. I picked up a 2005 MK1 when it was 10 months and 1,500 miles old and I still love it. From time to time I look at other bikes but there is not really anything out there at the moment that I would replace it with. The bike suits me very well and I absolutely love the fact that the Fazer and my other bike - an R1200RT - could not be more different. Complete opposites and each brilliant. |
