Re: compulsory ABS petition - Slaninar - 17-03-14 All those gizmos are good, excellent. ABS, traction control etc. They all work. A good rider IS better than an ABS, but only when he's rested, concentrated and in dry conditions. In most other cases, even pro riders can not "outbrake" ABS. The only problem I have with making those things compulsory is cost-benefit. I would rather get the EURO emmision standards and ABS out of the way and buy bike for half the price - a bike that performs. Like the good old FZS, that can no longer be made due to those stupid regulations. And that shit happens. Re: compulsory ABS petition - AdieR - 18-03-14 ABS has good and bad points: it may help in some situations, and hinder in others. It's a tool, not a be-all-and-end-all magic wand. One risk of any safety feature is the human on top taking increased risks ("beating" the safety advancement). No technology on the planet will prevent someone throwing themselves down the road if they're sufficiently determined. It isn't a replacement for riding skills, or good observation. My bike doesn't have ABS, and personally I don't want it either (for the time being anyway). Re: compulsory ABS petition - kawasutra - 19-03-14 signed and shared. |
