Re: Break or mend? - Revilo18 - 04-03-14 Sorry Deefer - I haven't been clear. It won't go into second, but it also won't go past second or anywhere near third. I have first and neutral only.. ... i.e. there's something physically jamming it from going up into second. It simply doesn't budge - even with the engine off, rolling the bike back and forward a bit..... truly fubar. Re: Break or mend? - ChristoT - 04-03-14 How about replacing the engine? Bozboz isn't that far from you, and I think he's still considering selling his. Re: Break or mend? - Deefer666 - 04-03-14 Ahhh I thought it was the jumping out of second, then yes by it probably needs stripping out. Still not a scary job Re: Break or mend? - Revilo18 - 05-03-14 Hey Christo! Long time. Yer - this seems the most viable option. Am watching a couple of engines on Ebay now. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-FZS-600-FAZER-5-1998-2004-ENGINE-RUNNING-PERFECT-/370964358606?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item565f32e5ce http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-FZS600-FAZER-1999-COMPLETE-ENGINE-MOTOR-60-DAYS-WARRANTY-/111262010449?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item19e7bb8c51 However, without a car (I live in London) it's all going to be a bit of a nut-ache. If I could find a friendly van driver who wants to earn a few extra quid, but who won't strip my wallet bare, to take me to see Deefer, all would be well! Thanks Deefer - I didn't really describer the problem first time very well. When I first turned up at the garage he said 'it's your selector spring' without even looking at the bike and I had to say 'no, it's fucking not'. Will keep you posted as to what I do. I sat on the bus like a zombie this morning and it hurt my soul. Revs Re: Break or mend? - Wookee - 05-03-14 If you can't find someone with a van try Shiply. I got a classic car from Brands Hatch to North London for £60 with them. 8) Re: Break or mend? - Deefer666 - 05-03-14 I might be able to collect with the trailer but cant say when poss next week Re: Break or mend? - Revilo18 - 06-03-14 You serious? How much would you want to come and scoop it up? I'm happy to pay for the miles and of course your time. Once it's fixed I can come up on the train and ride it back. You seem too good to be true mate! Revs |
