Re: Tuning on the cheap.. - chaparral02 - 19-09-13 I fitted ivan flies & BMC airfilter in mine a few years ago But it far from modding on the cheap for me :'( ![]() Re: Tuning on the cheap.. - slimwilly - 19-09-13 Blocked your ais ? Re: Tuning on the cheap.. - ogri48 - 19-09-13 No mate.its not backfiring on the over run, and even if it did I quite like that. My old zrx 1200 used to do, sounded like a proper bike ![]() Re: Tuning on the cheap.. - ogri48 - 21-09-13 Well, I did two days with the smaller flies in, under all conditions, and even took my missus out on a fast blast for a second opinion. It was nowhere near as good as with the flies out. No idea why, but there was a drastic fall off in power with them in, without it's an animal. I know my pc3 came from a bike that had them removed with a full system, so I'm thinking the pc3 could obviously be remapped and it would be sorted, but i really prefer the raw power delivery without them in, it feels quite sanitized and characterless with them back in. Map seems perfect for the bike as is, but I can't be worrying it might be running lean or summat soBikes booked in for a custom map at BSD on 4th October, guess that will be the final proof of the pudding Re: Tuning on the cheap.. - Fazer TIM - 21-09-13 if your pc3 is mapped for no flies and you got smaller ones in then that's gonna be why the performance has dipped I recon mate Re: Tuning on the cheap.. - stevierst - 21-09-13 (21-09-13, 05:20 PM)Fazer TIM link Wrote: if your pc3 is mapped for no flies and you got smaller ones in then that's gonna be why the performance has dipped I reckon mateyeah, possibly. I've played with quite a few maps on this bike, and got some odd results. Mine is running mivv can, trimmed flies, Lars airbox, BMC filter. The map is supposed to be for a bike with removed flies, and decat too. This map is the best its ever run, even better than in standard tune! You'll have to play with some of the maps from the zipfile I put up here before. Gotta be better than spending a small fortune on r/r tuning and custom mapping. Re: Tuning on the cheap.. - ogri48 - 21-09-13 Deffo. Weirdly, it's so much better on fuel tuned than it was stock. Shows how restricted they are to comply with all the euro emissions crap Re: Tuning on the cheap.. - stevierst - 21-09-13 Yep, I found that too. I got 48mpg out of it tuned up once. About 40-42mpg average quick riding. It dipped below 40 without tuning. |
