Having just changed the coolent - when you remove the drain plug nothing comes out untill you take off the filler cap- wouldnt this be just the same, or even less so as the oil is thicker and is not so far above the draining hole and so dosent have a head of pressure above

No oil comes out when you remove the plug (maybe a dribble) but mine was misting when running
