Re: Music while riding - Legal or Not - Arfa - 22-08-13 Just to clarify, we talking about music through ear plugs, yes? That was what you're acquaintance who was fined was using, right? As a few weeks ago a chap on a blinged out green Ninja pulled up beside me in London, with huge speakers attached to his handle bars, blaring tunes out. Bit mad really, could see a copper pulling him up for disturbing the peace or playing music without a public entertainment license or some such bollox. That said, don't Pan Europeans, Goldwings etc have built in radios? Re: Music while riding - Legal or Not - budgiemurray - 22-08-13 If it was illegal you bouldnt be allowed to sekl headsets in helmets etc.. From what im lead to believe in ear earphones are illegal due to blocking out ambient soubd but speakers are fine Budgie Re: Music while riding - Legal or Not - stevierst - 22-08-13 (22-08-13, 09:47 AM)budgiemurray link Wrote: From what im lead to believe in ear earphones are illegal due to blocking out ambient soubd but speakers are fineWhere would that lead us with ear plugs then? Listen to music and get my GPS instructions from it all day long and Ive never flattened the battery. I turned my mates onto this deal and they are also using these bluetooth intercoms without any problems. Compared to 'branded' intercoms these are a steal ![]() Re: Music while riding - Legal or Not - wickedmonkey - 15-01-14 Thanks Mattsplat. Re: Music while riding - Legal or Not - johna6968 - 15-01-14 Never liked to hear anythin but the bike while out riding, and as much as possible whats happenin around me.. When I am on the bike the mobile it is in my pocket in silent mode, nothing is so important that it cannot wait until the ould pitstop ![]() Re: Music while riding - Legal or Not - mtread - 15-01-14 Quote:I use exactly the same as these...I bought a pair of them to also use as bluetooth intercoms (rider/pillion). Great kit. Almost indistinguishable from my (broken) expensive Cardo Scala rider :rolleyes Re: Music while riding - Legal or Not - ChristoT - 16-01-14 Ah, you went for outside the helmet, my BT kit was integrated in my Caberg lid. Much more bling! £150 new, or two for £30 on eBay! ![]() Re: Music while riding - Legal or Not - trudd - 16-01-14 I've got a set of Soundears (http://www.ultimateear.com/motorcyclist.php) and a Garmin Zumo660 so that I can listen to directions and music but have the ability to turn it off (or down) when "making progress" or in town. Re: Music while riding - Legal or Not - midden - 16-01-14 Is it the Goldwing which has stereo built in to the fairing? Probably fined for having it belting out in residential area Re: Music while riding - Legal or Not - kawasutra - 18-01-14 Used to have music in one ear and keep other free when I rode to n from work. No incidents or scares at all. Never when out for a pleasure ride, ear plugs only. |
