it wont float in the thames!!!!!!        yes removed the jets found no crud but still cleaned them all    didnt check float height as how can that ever get changed and never found that to be a problem in 37 years of carrer  waiting for high tide now

i thought that but no they all open in sync

Re: fazer 600 2001 misfire - Dead Eye - 27-05-13

Yeah, I believe they do, but for some reason you aren't getting fuel in to no 4 cylinder. If the jets have been cleaned and the floats are fine (agree that its unlikely to be the float height) then that leaves the butterfly or a blockage in the carb rubbers (either side potentially)

sticking float,blocked/stuck float valve  ?  Wink

as above........to recap then, not leccy fault as carbs 3 and 4 have differing amounts of misfire ( both these plugs are `fired `by separate coils ) so chances of both faulty at same time are pretty slim. shit running when `fueled ` in normal manner but revs lovely when fuel is added bypassing carb ( vacuum nipple  :rolleyes )= internal carb issue.......and so we return to Red`s suggestion !! good luck. said it before, sit down with a cuppa ( and possibly a ciggy ) and just think it through. don`t start ripping things apart willy nilly. you know it`s a `fuelling` issue so keep solely in that area Wink

If you prime up the carbs, ign on wait for fuel pump to stop clicking just before you remove them and then keep them verticle, remove the bowl of dodgy no4 and a good one and compare the fuel levels between them.  If you loose any fuel out of them getting them out just top them up again out of the frame.

This is better than just a "float level" check, as that don't prove the needle valve is not bloked or other no fuel flow problem / blockage, stuck float as mentioned possible

A quicker and less messy method of checking the fuel levels in the carbs is to use a length of pvc tubing on the drain spigot as described in the manual. By draining the bowl first (may need to turn off the fuel tap under the tank briefly) you can compare the filling rates for a good carb and carbs 3 and 4. That way you can find out if the problem is in the fuel supply side without even taking the carbs off.

:agree  yep...thats the way i do it.......i would check that first but its more likley to be the float valve  Wink
