Re: best mods ? (Hugger/Belly pan/lights ?) - alexanderfitu - 08-02-13 The list of mods on mine: Custom LED brake boards LED brake and tail light on top box Custom LED indicators Heated Grips HID Projector Angel eye headlights (X2!) Multi gauge SP Engineering exhaust Mods to come: Front and rear facing permanent DVR cameras Air horn Repairing the damage from when I dropped it! LED indicator strips LED rear footpeg mod Modified Acumen CL10 chain oiler. Re: best mods ? (Hugger/Belly pan/lights ?) - darrsi - 08-02-13 LED footpeg mod? Re: best mods ? (Hugger/Belly pan/lights ?) - alexanderfitu - 08-02-13 Leds on the rear footpegs facing back. I was going to drill and put the leds through the back, but due to the fazer design I would need a very very long drill bit and some more bits, so I gave up on that, and will be sticking LED strips on them, one for brake, one for indicators. Re: best mods ? (Hugger/Belly pan/lights ?) - Chris - 08-02-13 With all the LEDs on your bike it'll be like a christmas tree, easily seen though and weight your way for a smidsy. Which you hopefully never have. ![]() Re: best mods ? (Hugger/Belly pan/lights ?) - Chris - 08-02-13 Well, I hope you never have to use it mate. Re: best mods ? (Hugger/Belly pan/lights ?) - alexanderfitu - 08-02-13 Cheers! Same! Re: best mods ? Cheers, had to use my horn a couple of times to wake up muppets at junctions and get their attention to make sure they have seen me. Noone's pulled out on me in a while, not since I had my cbr125 when I was learning. Re: best mods ? (Hugger/Belly pan/lights ?) - darrsi - 08-02-13 Try London, EVERYONE pulls out on you!! :'( Re: best mods ? (Hugger/Belly pan/lights ?) - alexanderfitu - 08-02-13 Excatly. I use the horn 3-4 times a journey. Re: best mods ? (Hugger/Belly pan/lights ?) - Bender - 08-02-13 Hi all I don't know if this is a relevant advice for the main question. On my former bike that was a FZS600, I only changed a bit of thing everyone related to the ride safety: - brake pads (SBS RS) - brake master cylinder (a new NISSIN radial unit) - brake pipeline/hoses (steel mesh) - shock dampers (FG Gubellini front fork upgrade and rear complete replace unit) The bike has really changed its character, can believe me. The little Fazer could swallow the dust to many supersport in curvy roads. Re: best mods ? (Hugger/Belly pan/lights ?) - Foxwood - 13-02-13 So far on my '99: -LED miniblinkers, with proper spacers and relay -Bi-Xenon headlights (the low beam adapter was a f*cker, ended up making one at Uni with a 3d-printer) -LED rear/brake light bulbs (in original housing though, don't shine much on the plates) -Delkevic downpipes -Scorpion Exhaust slip-on :evil -Painted from original candy red (had been very abused by the elements: previous owner had it sitting year-round on the front lawn :eek ) to matte white + new decals -Blue LED instrument lights -K&N air filter -Carbon look hugger -Carbon fibre yoke cover Don't really know what to do next. ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: best mods ? (Hugger/Belly pan/lights ?) - Chris - 13-02-13 very nice Foxwood! Looks Great! Did you have any trouble with fitting the delkevic downpipes or did they line up ok? Re: best mods ? Had more trouble taking off the old rusted-through ones. ![]() Re: best mods ? (Hugger/Belly pan/lights ?) - Fuzzy - 13-02-13 If you ride in crap weather, a fender extenda and hugger makes a hell of a difference. Wish I fitted mine earlier. Not the most glamorous but very practical. Re hugger, try getting one that extends downwards aswell, it will give added protection to the linkage and shock. Pyramid do these but there are others. Suspension. If on a budget, even just changing the fork springs will make a big difference. Sorting out the back end usually gets expensive though. Better bulbs (or any other headlight upgrade) especially on the square eye. Led bulbs in the clocks is a easy and cheap upgrade. A Good screen is handy in the winter. Other than aesthetics, don't see much benefit of lower fairings or belly pan. Better off with some sort of crash protection. + lots of others! One you start you can't stop! Re: best mods ? (Hugger/Belly pan/lights ?) - simonm - 14-02-13 These are the total so far: Pyramid Fenda Extenda and Yamaha engine bars :-) Ugly, but functional. Any idea how much it would cost to respray a Fazer 600 ? Cheers Simon Re: best mods ? I had mine done for 280€, but that was with me unbolting the fairings and tank, then reinstalling them after they had been sprayed. A pretty moderate price hereabouts. Don't know what it would cost in the UK though. Re: best mods ? Thanks alexanderfitu. You're right I really should get them in to projector housings, but I'm not too good with doing electrical work and haven't got the assets to buy a new kit. Haven't had the police stop me yet and I've managed to adjust the beams so that they don't blind oncoming traffic or cars in front of me. Besides it seems to get me noticed better as they are. (http://www.scorpion-exhausts.com/product-details.html?autoid=791) Can't remember where I ordered it from, but def not straight from the factory. It wasn't the cheapest either, but if I remember correctly it was the cheapest CE -certified can I could find at the time. Haven't had the db-killer on it at all, gives a nice low rumble at idle and low revs. And crackles nicely after releasing the throttle when doing a harder acceleration. All in all, been very pleased with it. Edit: My English seems to be getting worse and worse :lol |
