"They've no idea that he's been riding bikes for years, is a qualified instructor and could ride the pants off most of them" - I'm nowhere near that good, but I enjoyed filtering past all the sportsbike riders.
"Good job my commuting is only 3 miles a day" 1½ miles each way? You could walk that in 20 minutes, lose some weight and thus improve your MPG :thumbup

How about walking to work.... while wearing a Bowler hat and carrying a I-pad?
Then everyone knows your not poor because you wear a suit to work - and especially not when you carry an I-pad. (or perhaps a Daily Telegraph)

It appears £170 a month on leisure fuel is no big deal to some on here, but I'm not afraid to admit it's really starting to stretch me. Then again, some people barely ride their bikes.

Personally I don't think that £170.00 is an insignificant amount to spend on fuel - especially if it's unavoidable. However to some (myself included) bikes are just big toys and there's no compulsory element as to when or how often they must play with them.
