Re: Restricting a 600 - Dead Eye - 07-11-12 Isn't that exactly what darrsi said a couple of posts above? :rolleyes Re: Restricting a 600 - darrsi - 07-11-12 :lol That's what i thought i said :lol If you are unfortunate enough to have a bad accident and your bike gets hauled off for inspection and found not to be restricted when it's meant to be, then your insurance is invalid, so no pay out and then you get nicked for riding without insurance as well. :rolleyes Re: Restricting a 600 - His Dudeness - 07-11-12 i think if you're on a restricted license you have to restrict the bike but you don't have to have a cert saying it's restricted. however some insurance companies do look for them Re: Restricting a 600 - Lawrence - 08-11-12 (07-11-12, 02:48 PM)darrsi link Wrote: There must be some kind of law involved otherwise people simply wouldn't need to, or even bother, restricting their bikes? :rolleyesOf course there is. It's not driving in accordance with your licence. Quick google and I found this. They say up to £1000 fine, 3-6 points and potentially a ban. The relevant part is "you do not have the relevant licence for that class of vehicle." You've also got to remember that your insurance will be invalid. If you smashed up someones car , your insurance would pay out the third party (they're legally obliged to afaik) but then they'd come after you to get their money back. |
