Re: Suspension settings, anyone had a fiddle? - JZS 600 - 02-06-12 Got a Halfords pressure gauge for a fiver or something like that and it works really well, no problems getting it on the valves etc. Re: Suspension settings, anyone had a fiddle? - Buzz - 02-06-12 I got this from Ebay and it's turned out to be the best pressure gauge I've ever had. Solid brass nozzle and totally accurate readings..can't go wrong for a tenner. Re: Suspension settings, anyone had a fiddle? - kebab19 - 02-06-12 I think some of you might be confusing optimal shock settings with a shock that has lost its damping. I have no idea what mileage the OEM shock goes at, but it almost certainly needs replaced / rebuilt at 20000 miles Re: Suspension settings, anyone had a fiddle? - JZS 600 - 02-06-12 Oh dear, mines done 30K :eek Re: Suspension settings, anyone had a fiddle? - Dead Eye - 02-06-12 Mine is at 23k so its about due I guess... Any hints, tips or advice on this? Re: Suspension settings, anyone had a fiddle? - kebab19 - 02-06-12 Normally the OEM is not rebuildable, but it can be done by installing a Schrader valve allowing it to be rebuilt multiple times. A few postings on the thread below for info - Caledonian Engineering & Revs Racing seem to be the places that can rebuild them. I assume both use the replacement valve technique although I might be wrong... http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,2078.0.html You could also DIY - a few months ago Practical Sportsbikes had an article on how to fit a Schrader valve, didn't look too hard |
