Running Maxxis Diamonds on my fazer 1k. So far, love 'em but not really able to comment on the tyre wear yet but have seem reports of 7 - 10k before needing changing.

Michelin PR3s on mine & they really are superb, never felt so secure on wet roads & they seem to be wearing very well too. I did a 3K+ mile tour down to the Alps for a play on them last summer & when I had it MOT'd not long afterwards, the guy mentioned that they looked pretty new & looked genuinely surprised when I told him they'd been on there for 4K miles.

Went on the Bridgestone web site to find the idea pressure for my tyres and it said I should be running BT 023's!

You would be amazed at the amount of grip in the wet :eek
Once you get some heat into the tyre (and not too ham fisted with the throttle/brakes)
It's all about confidence and getting the 'feel' and feedback to push-on
The Pr2's are a very good tyre and last about 6000 even with 'spirited' riding

Avon Storm 2 Ultra. Still excellent after 5k in all conditions. They are duel compound so unlikely to square off prematurely.
I have never taken them on a track though.

Metzler z6 Cheap, reliable (especially in the wet) and durable...purchased on the recommendations of local garage who have been in business longer than I have lived

Just done a 1000 clicks to Raasay and back on a new pair of Dunlops. In the dry and wet they behaved impeccably, first time on Dunlops for me and they get a big :thumbup 's up.

Metz or Pirelli (merged, make similar tyres). Loads more rubber and a lot firmer tyres than most other I've came across (including Mich. Pilot Roads, Conti Road Attacks, etc...). A definite plus for the badly paved roads in my country.

Michelin's all the way. Road pilot 2's were good 3's are better. A good example is one of my friends he goes the same way home from work every evening for years he used michelins. Early part of the year he changed maxxis tyres for budget reasons. a couple of weeks ago he slid and fell on a manhole cover that he has ridden over previously with the michelins and not even a twitch. No diesel involved he looked when he got up.

PR2's were good but had a lot of punctures. not had before (Metzelers) or since. Coincidence? I don't know
but it was bloody expensive.
Now on Avons and once the pressures sorted they are as good as the PR2's wet or dry.

Pirelli Diablo/Rosso, for the last 4 or 5 years, I am so happy with them. I am not able to compare them except to older Dunlop models. Not good for wet roads though.
Do you think that Metzeler are exactly the same or do they change a bit?

i ran mets z6,s on a fjr for 3 years all weathers and found them very good!! apart from when the front got a bit of ware on it!! wanted to tuck in on every bend i came across!! allways having to counter steer!! changed to michelin pilots! and what a transformation that was?? fantastic tyres!! running contis at mo on foxeye! plenty of tread still on them? but got a pair of michis on standby!!!!!! contis good in dry! bit twitchy in wet!!!

i have not had one fault with maxxis Tyre either the sport touring Tyre or the super sports they don't do the touring tires anymore just made the sport touring ones capable for bout rather than touring sport and super sport even the super sports which are the ones i always run a great in all weather have even rode in the heavy snow on them and they didn't spin not even a little only tires i will ever run on my bikes put it that way.

a m ate of mine with a zx10r runs maxxi sport and he loves them!! although he has never been or got court in the wet!!!! he was told to be very light on his right hand ? if he did venture out in the wet?? by a couple of his mates on gsx 1000,s as they had had some serious moments or should i say....movements!!!!!!! with thers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's the same company now. Merged. Tyres look and feel the same, but I bought Pirellis, because of the cool diablo trident.
